DJatLarge 0 #1 February 16, 2004 Ok, so I admit, I have done the file sharing thing more than a time or two, but is it dead now? I used Winmx for a long time, but now people don't share anymore, so stuff is hard to find Anytips? New, bot proof, RIAA proof programs?? Oh, and for the RIAA folks out there, my name is Bob, and I live in Kearney, Nebraska! Come Get Me!
Glipazide 0 #2 February 16, 2004 Well, a while back i mentioned us starting a DC (Direct Connect) hub for dropzone.commers.... Not many replys so I didnt do it.. However, I still have the hub up and running for RL friends and stuff and the RIAA can't get in If enough people are interested in it, I will start the hub again and get usernames and passwords up for whoever wants in. It will be private so no worries.. Send me a PM to whoever wants to share, and I will start the dropzone.com hub. I used Winmx for a long time, but now people don't share anymore, maybe this is a stupid question, but... are you sharing your files ? i'm an avid winmx dude but if i see someone trying to download files from me with ZERO files shared i put them on my IGNORE list. i usually get with a couple of "goodfellas" and we throttle up our bandwidth between each other for FAST downloads. it's only when we've lost everything that we're free to do anything ! The111 1 #12 February 16, 2004 There are many resources out there far better than P2P. Usenet, IRC, Torrent, etc. However, for the casual user searching for a good P2P program, get Soulseek. Far better than anything else out there right now.www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Chute 0 #14 February 17, 2004 RIAA can't get in If there is a will there is a way. If they get a fed court order they can go in, posing as a file sharer. Trade files for days, weeks, months. Collect info of who, what files shared, and will a little work. your IP address. You can share files but I would stay away from MP3's. There is away around the MP3 thing. Change the extension to something else. Your not sharing an MP3. Once you and your friends change extensions, DL it. You change it back and there you go. MP3 with out the hastle of RIAA. I run about 3 to 4 file sharing apps. (not at one time) PORN is mostly what is shared now a days. the rest are either old progs or something you don't want or you can't find a working key.Bottomless Beers and Blue Skies! * Brother_Brian * D.S.W.F.S.B. #
Glipazide 0 #15 February 17, 2004 Well, the RIAA wont get into this hub. period. What they can do is be notified that there is extreme activity on ports 5050 (which was used by KaZaa) or whatever BS.. and roadrunner/verizon ect will turn that user in.. But this is on port 411, and other ports, you can even insert any specific port.. So I say screw the RIAA..http://sexygirlabs.com/url]
