Tinkerbelle 5 #101 February 17, 2004 As I recall, they were also from around Vienna. I have met other Viennanese, in Eloy, but don't remember their names off hand. Ask around about Hansi Shneburger, though if you would please. I know he was very experienced in the sport and should be known somewhere around there. My email address is annbrolly@earthlink.net. Have fun in Florida! My second home is in DeLand, but I am stuck up in Santa Cruz near San Francisco, California right now.
WrongWay 0 #102 February 17, 2004 Quote So what makes a metrosexual man? He's been defined as a straight, sensitive, well-educated, urban dweller who is in touch with his feminine side. He may have a standing appointment for a weekly manicure, and he probably has his hair cared for by a stylist rather than a barber. He loves to shop, he may wear jewelry, and his bathroom counter is most likely filled with male-targeted grooming products, including moisturizers (and perhaps even a little makeup). He may work on his physique at a fitness club (not a gym) and his appearance probably gets him lots of attention -- and he's delighted by every stare. I know a few skydiver metrosexuals, but I don't know if they'll admit it on the forums. Okay, I'll be first to admit that yeah, I've been called a metrosexual. I'm told that the reasons for this is cuz of stuff like this: I actually gel my hair in the morning. Yes, I actually pick out my clothes, and I always match. I like to wear suits/dress clothes just as much as I do jeans and a t-shirt. I like to shop, but don't blow cash cuz oif my skydiving habit. I guess you could call me well-educated, I've been through some college, still going, and I've taken to the "classy" things since I was a kid, like dancing, edicate, opening doors, pulling out chairs, stuff like that. I go to a stylist instead of a barber, not cuz I have a preference, but in my small town, we don't even have a "barber", so it's not really a choice. Anyway, I guess the point is, I care about my appearance and how I present myself, whether it be at the workplace, the dropzone, the street, my own home, whatever. I don't do it for attention, and I don't do it to impress people. I just like to look decent to know that I present a good image. HOWEVER, I'm a guy, and like any guy, I like to act like, well, a guy. I dig jeans and a tshirt. I own a baseball cap that I've had for 7 years and has never seen soap. Manicure? Shit, I'm a nail biter and prolly always will be. I don't use any kind of special "creams" for anything, I use the same soap for my face as I do fo the rest of me, and I don't own a rubber ducky. I don't work out, mainly because I'm lazy and my metabolism ROCKS. I love tattoos and hate tanning beds. I love beer and hate strawberry daquiris. And finally, I don't make relationship decisions from self help books. So the question here is, from your own personal evaluation, am I a metrosexual, or just some dude who likes to wear suits? happythoughts 0 #109 February 17, 2004 There is guys who won't spend the time to get a nice haircut or clean up their house because it is "the way they live". If my Bf wants to take me out...cool! Btw, I NEVER get my nails done, and I cut my own hair...but I ALWAYS smell great and wear some natural-looking make-up daily. I also never work out, eat what I want, and I feel "at home" in casual or dress-up clothing. I have no problem getting down and dirty for skydiving or rockclimbing, but I also love to clean up into "girlie" mode when I'm going home. I love being natural when I can, yet, I drive and own luxurious things, enjoy pampering myself occasionally and enjoy wearing feminine dresses and sexy heels every so often.
