This is why you should BUCKLE UP

OMG...well it sure looked real...:|

I don't move in a car or plane without my seatbelt on. I sure hope he's Ok...looks like a broken hand at least, and will be some serious facial injuries...but I hope he's alright.

Question though...why would just an everyday Joe have a camera mounted to look AT him in his car?? Just wondering.

I saw that awhile back, it has to be real. Watch his face when he nails the left side of the car, I don't know of a dummy that can make that face.

EDIT: http://www.drivecam.com/about-drivecam.html

Thats the website, I guess they install those units in a bunch of cars or something, I didn't feel like reading itB|

I read it...looks like companies install them in their fleet type vehicles to help reduce accidents and to have proof of what the driver was doing if an accident happens (it says that the driver will be more cautious if they know they are being watched. :S) I'm thinking that either the guy was some type of delivery driver or it may have been a rental car and the company had it installed.

Yeah, it's real. It's hard to tell, but the guy is a cab driver or something. The car he's driving is a Ford Crown Victoria.

The drivecam web-site has some other videos on it. My favorite is the lady driving the rental-car-shuttle, the steering goes and you hear from her the longest, loudest, increasing pitch "shhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiitttt" :D
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

LOL, on that same video from the rear view is sorta funny but sucks. That guy gets thrown on the ground gets right back up and sits down in his seat again, then says, "please let me out, please let me out". He was in shock for sure, but it was weird how he sat right back down..

I think you people are missing the point made by the video. Do you really think it´s ok to sleepdrive as long as you wear a seatbelt? I somehow got another point.

I have a friend who was driving late at night and was getting sleepy, so he pulled into a rest stop, killed the lights and engine and fell immediately to sleep. Then he started dreaming that he fell asleep while driving. He awoke and started stomping on the brakes and thinking this was the end because his brakes weren´t working and his headlights were out. It took him a few moments to figure out what was going on much to the amusement of the other people in the rest area ;-). Needless to say, he wasn´t sleepy any more!!!!

take care,
space
