Am I the only one who thinks this guy is a bit of a dumbass pulling that low with a rig that has been "packed for over a year", then bragging about it on the ground for 5 minutes?? :S

Maybe I'm in a weird mood...

I watched both episodes the last time they were on. For the most part? Yaaaaawwwwnnnnnnn.

Skiing? Yawn.
Snowboarding? Yawn.
BASE? Most of it-yawn.

Now that BASE (or at least BASE-rigged) off the hang glider? Sheeeeet. That freaked me out, and as far a freefall on a BASE rig, he did seem kinda low....

All in all, a big yawner, but was worth watching for me, just to see the Hang glider/BASE.

And If I remeber correctly, watching that deployment, it was packed slider up.

Eeeeew.

why do you say Eeeeew?

Slider up BASE is common place.

I don't get Discovery here at the Holliday Inn Select. Just abot every thing else but discovery? what's up with that?

Yea, Timmeeeeaaaah, I know that. How common is slider up, long delay, extreme low pull BASE? It wasn't the slider up as much as it was the combination of slider up, long delay, and (what looked like) extreme low pull that made me go eeeew.

I know, I'm not a BASE'r, yet, but whew....

I really think that Miles is pretty arrogant. Bragging about a year old pack job, stupidity on the air waves. :S Thank goodness for DZ.COM so people that are really wanting to have fun and be safe have a real home. I really expected more realism about the sport from Discovery, not one persons' view. There is just so many of you with such great gifts. What about you guys? No one gets to see what is really out there. A big loss of true education on the sport.-Caress

hehehe.. .funny stuff.

Well I don't have to defend the mighty Miles. He's the genuine article. Warm caring, will do just about any thing for you. He's a positive lifeforce and a genuine nut... An extremely dialed nut, but a nut none the less.

I gotta admit I've jumped a reserve that was packed for 2 years and 6 months. I borrowed a rig and had a reserve ride. That's when I figured it out.

I haven't seen the program but miles is just a fun happy characture.

Grr... no discovery channel...

Just because I think he is arrogant, does not make Miles a bad person. I just think that if you are going to do a show on skydiving/base jumping, showing-off by pulling really low is not a good thing. I'm sure he is a nice guy, like I said, I just expected more than one adventure. I was hoping for more peoples perspective to be opened up for the world to see.-Caress

I just love the fact that Miles can use the expression "dialed in" more than once in a sentence.

Did he really say that? I haven't seen the program :D

Man.. that came out of my head all on it's own :)
