reduce image size?

Recommended Posts

1st go to folder that the desired pic is in.
Click on pic.
choose "EDIT"
THen find "Image" at top and click
then you can go to "skew" and equally reduce horz and vert %'s
e.g. need to reduce 1/2 then edit 100%
100%
with 50%
50%
then at file, do /click "save as..."
type in NEW name like IM0099865 now call MyIcon
go back to folder you started in and a new less "k"byte image with new name will be there. I place my cursor arrow over my pics and a litle yellow statement of image size then pops up to tell me it's "value". If it's small enough then I use it. If too small start over with original. trying to increase "skew" gives you big block mess.
***I make sure my pics are jpg or bmp 1st and for most.

I seem to have this little hangup in that every time I click on my picture, especially in my windows explorer tree, it opens in some program called ultimage by Hobie. If I try to alter the image it tells me I am not registered, and I must pay 30$.
Is there some way to work around this? I made a whole website complete with images I scanned in, but those seem external to this Hobie dude. The picture I want is being guarded by Hobie! Help I am being held prisoner on my own machine! :S

You know what, I actually have lots of those, and even some like Vanillaskygirl, nearly neeeked, but I am afraid of you people on this forum! Something bad could come of it! It seems like over the past 17 years in this sport, people still remember when you sneeze, and you hear about it years later in some outlandish place. My dude is very sensitive to my being more of a lady these days, so I try to comply. For some reason whenever I so much as twitch a finger, everyone in the World has to go and tell him about it! Whatever happened to the easy going types in this sport? :S

They realized that NA, AA & One step at a time (..of 12) has given them a sit up and pay attention life rather than "lay back".;)

Delete what ever Hobie stuff in your comp and try to just make a file in side "My documents' call it My Pics or My Fun pics" then scan your pics and select the folder to save in.
so many compnies try to force you to spend on stuff you don't want.[:/]

Well it seems the thought police guard this site pretty rigorously. I have stepped "out of line" a couple times already and gotten reamed for it!
People love to tell stories in the skydiving world. If you did something, by the time you hear it again it has been amplified and magnified and over exagerated 100 fold. I used to think that was funny, but these days there seem to be a lot more sensitive, self-rigious types at the DZ who are ready to tar and feather the wild child!

so rather than the TAR & Feather it's Honey and Granola!

Help! I have not the images nor the scanner with me any more. The scanner is in my storage locker in San Diego, and whenever I find or get a picture I just put it in my documents/my pictures, and hobie seems to take over! Is there any way to slip one out from my documents/my pictures, and put it somewhere else without his noticing? :S:(

Well, I will PM a comment of what my thoughts are if you think that would be the case about the sensitivity of some people. In regards to the pic, go to the explorer and right click on the pic, select "open with" choose what bobsled adviced you.

You have dowloaded this "hobie" program and have to get rid of it.

Help! I need an exterminator! I even tried to import the photo into Adobe Deluxe, which I am registered for from my days of scanning in photos for my dead fiancee, Shawn Gloyer's web site. I reduced the size to 65x75, stored it as a jpg, then sent it to a floppy. But when I looked at the properties on the floppy it had increased in size from 35 to 46 pixels, and still that damned Hobie's ultimage opened it up! Is it time to call in an exorcist? :S

If you saved your pics in your "My pictures" folder, then that "Hobie" program(just a veiwer) will not be trying to jump in.
It seems to be a photo shop[ type of program that does graphics for you but, you don't pay the fee and it sits and hassles yo until you buy it or delete it.
my old CD rom Kodak prog would get grabbed by MS photo crap and do the same thing.

Say if you're still around.... hate to monoploize your time, but I need some help. Again, if I try to extricate hobie, will something bad happen to all my pictured in my documents/mypictures? What will be different? I am a pen and paper preferer. So many times I have spent hours on the machine only to push a button or have something crash and the whole thing just vanishes! I hate that! Lost a whole term paper that way years ago. I have soooo many pictures saved, it would be tragic to push a button and have them all go away! I don't trust these damned machines that much! Why did hobie go through adobe and onto my floppy? What a tenacious program, how is it clinging on to my files? :S
