Even still, Americans, most of them anyway, don't care about affairs.

Where is this coming from? I care very much about the integrity of a man who proposes to become leader of the free world.

Well, Americans knew about Clinton's womanizing before the first and second time he was elected. They didn't seem to mind then. Oh yeah, that was just complete loony left-wing fanatics that voted for him, I forgot.:P

Umm, they hired the "independent" council long before he lied under oath. Anyone care to tell us just how much Ken Starr cost the American taxpayers? Would you propose we spend that much on any other perjury charge?

"Both pale in comparison to getting a blow job, if the conservatives posting here are any indication. "

The problem is not the blow job (although the most powerful man in the world putting himself in such a compromising position with someone he doesn't even know is not exactly what I'd call good decision making), the problem is that he lied about it under oath, thereby undermining the system he swore to uphold. Wagging his finger and lying to the whole country didn't help much either.

No, it's not the act, it is the lack of self control, and the outright lying that is so Fucking Disturbing - This guy that can't even seem to keep it in his pants admittedly "Addicted" to sex, has the codes and the keys to the little red button.

Bush's cocaine usage

Bill,

Why do you think this will be the issue. This was used in 2000 and put to rest. My guess is that the biggest hurdle GWB will have to overcome is the situation with the WMD's and the bad Intel.

As a conservative, I call bullshit on this one Bill. Killing babies is by far the greater evil. You as a...ahem...Catholic should know better.

Yeah, he put that one to rest alright, "I haven't done it, at least not since 77"

He would have been better off with, "I tried cocaine once, but I didn't inhale"

Me too. I hate it when a President sells out to campaign contributors and gives no bid contracts to cronies.

How about if he lies to Congress and the nation in the State of the Union Address?

Actually he lied under oath during the Paul Jones trial, Who was an Arkansas state clerk. This occurred before the "independent" council.

Funny thing Ken Starr did not want this position, but BOTH sides (reps and dems) wanted him to be the man for the job

I think the sticking point has to do with the lying under oath, as opposed to lying in general.

I guess telling the truth does not form part of the Presidential oath of office. Time to fix that!

For a second I thought I'd take your word for it, but then I remembered the IC wasn't even supposed to be about the Lewinsky/Jones deal.

Quote

On January 12, 1998, this Office received information that Monica Lewinsky was attempting to influence the testimony of one of the witnesses in the Jones litigation, and that Ms. Lewinsky herself was prepared to provide false information under oath in that lawsuit. The OIC was also informed that Ms. Lewinsky had spoken to the President and the President's close friend Vernon Jordan about being subpoenaed to testify in the Jones suit, and that Vernon Jordan and others were helping her find a job. The allegations with respect to Mr. Jordan and the job search were similar to ones already under review in the ongoing Whitewater investigation.(9)

Quote

January 17, 1998 President deposed in Jones case

January 18, 1998 President meets with Betty Currie to discuss President's deposition

January 21, 1998 Lewinsky matter reported in press; President denies allegations of a sexual relationship and of suborning perjury

April 1, 1998 Judge Wright grants summary judgment for President Clinton in the Jones litigation

July 17, 1998 President served with grand jury subpoena, later withdrawn in return for testimony

July 28, 1998 Immunity/Cooperation Agreement reached between Lewinsky and OIC

August 17, 1998 President testifies before the grand jury; later he publicly acknowledges improper relationship

So at the very least the independent council was investigating 5 days before any perjury occured, but like I said, he was hired way before. You're wrong, thems the facts. Oh and by the way, aside from the impeachment fiasco, they never found anything to indict Clinton with.

Hey guys. It's "independent counsel" "Independent council" makes it sound like a kangaroo court. Of course, this may be the desired effect.

I'll state my objections to Clinton on that. I don't care if he got a BJ. I DO care about the circumstances of it. He was the commander in chief receiving one during business hours in the Oval Office. That's one.

Most importantly, he was in violation of Federal Anti-sexual harassment laws by using his authoritative position in a sexual relationship with an intern.

If I were a corporate CEO boinking a mailroom clerk, his Justice Department would have gone after me for violation of laws (which he strengthened). She received special benefits that were not available to others as a result of her activities.

Then, he not only lied about it, but he got his Cabinet to lie about it (unlike Nixon, who lied to protect his henchmen, Clinton lied and got his henchman to propound that lie to protect Clinton's ass).

Why do I have a problem with "a blowjob?" Because it was more than just a blowjob. It was a violation of federal laws that Clinton was sworn to protect - laws that he strengthened to go after everyone else but him.

I really don't understand how any skydiver (well, I'm sure thier are a few saints who fall through the sky) can say they haven't done worse than any politician.

Come on people do you really think bashing anyone on a web site is going to do any good? Most of us have done far worse things than any politician could do to get criticized for. All of the politicians have done things that we have not (nor do we know about) and have not been criticized because every politician does them.

When it comes down to it no one is a saint. We have all done things that might be controversial to others. I really don't care about the sex life of any politician and quite honestly I am sick of hearing about it.

I've never had a woman "accuse" me of rape. There aren't ANY Skydivers I know that I'd vote for President.

Who's accusing who of rape? Where the hell did that come from? Seriously Bob, have you gotten into some of the good shit? If so, please tell me where it is because I need some of what you're smokin'!;)

If I was to post a story of a woman who was sexually harrassed at work by their boss, everyone would be up in arms. Everyone would demand the firing of the boss, wouldn't they? Maybe jail?

After the last fiasco of this sort, people are trying to avoid them getting into office so we don't have to endure 4 years of this again.

Errr... Benny, if you read a couple of posts up, you will note I mentioned Juanita Broderick. If you recall, she accused President Clinton of rape. My response to Heathers statement about how no skydiver can say they haven't done worse than any politician was tying the accusation of Juanita Broderick to my own personal experiences'. I further insinuated that while Heathers initial statement was probably true, the tie in was there weren't any skydivers I know whom I would vote for President.
Also I don't do any drugs of any kind. So you will have to procure your own stash. :P
