quade 4 #1 February 22, 2004 It's raining in SoCal and I've been playing a marathon session of America's Army. I gotta say, it freekin' rocks and has a lot of depth for a FPS made as a recruitment tool. It even has something for skydivers -- a 250' tower and a static line jump. Does anyone know if any other service branch is planning on making their own recruitment game? Maybe a combat flight sim from the Air Force?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

nathaniel 0 #6 February 22, 2004 Have you tried Falcon 4? not exactly a recruitment tool...after playing falcon 3 in high school I gave the air force academy a serious thought, tho. I've read glowing reviews of what fans have been able to do to f4 after the source was disclosed... nathanielMy advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. DJatLarge 0 #12 February 22, 2004 Good Game! I've played it many times, and wasted more than a few rainy days blowing up the enemy in it. My honor score is 15, but almost 16. I haven't played for a week or two, but need to get back to it.
quade 4 #13 February 22, 2004 OK, so is it just me or . . . They make the Airborne training levels pretty sensitive and timing critical as far as canopy control and PLF go (you break bones and the Jump Masters verbally abuse you), but when it comes to the actual missions, you just jump and you can't even get a sprained ankle. I'd think that for reality sake you should have at least a 10% chance of spraining an ankle and needing the medic. Jumping out of the C-17 is pretty funny though. You can go out of any door in any orientation all while wearing static line gear.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
