Floridians & the upcoming election.

Recommended Posts

I know we have a lot of people from Florida on this thread. (this is not about being democrat or republican).

But have you people in Florida figured out how to vote yet? The election is coming up this fall and I just want to make sure.

How high can you all count?

How many fingers am I holding up?:S;)

I'll give YOU a finger... :P

Um, seems the only people who were too dumb to figure out how to vote in Florida in 2000 were those dumb enough to try to vote Democrat.

I had the sample ballot sent to me in the mail (I still have it). I voted in the election. I left the ballot box with NO DOUBT that I had actually voted for the person I wanted to vote for. There was no legitimate reason for confusion. The claim that the ballot was confusing came ONLY after the whiners' candidate was not elected. Funny, the same whiners had had ample opportunity to see that same exact ballot before the election, and at that time, all the way leading up to the election, no one stood up and said, "Hey, this is too confusing, let's get it reworked before the election."

You know, for all the bitching about Florida blowing the election for Gore, why don't we hear about how if he had only been popular enough in his [I]own fuckin' HOME STATE to carry their electoral votes, Florida wouldn't have mattered?!

I've been to West Palm. Trust me, they're even going to have problems with that voting device.

Hey, I'm living in West Palm Beach! Well, I suppose I should not take offense, having been born, raised and educated on Long Island. I myself think the people who inhabit this area are fuckin' morons. You should see them DRIVE!

Okay knucklehead. Listen carefully because I am going to say this once. You listening? Those people that had such a hard time voting? They were old, as in retirees, as in you ddamn non-Floridians keep moving to Florida, driving slow, loosing count and building golf courses. So, before you go pointing fingers, look at yourself, because you will be that person in not to many years. Floridians have not had a problem. Transplant restiree Northerners screwed up.:P

There, now that you have a clue, don't screw up YOUR vote:ph34r::D.

BINGO! We have a winner! The problem was not the people voting, it was the damned democrook losers, i.e. Gore and his little ass-kissing suck-up Daley, from Chicago, trying to steal the election that caused all the fuck-ups if Florida! Peacefulljeffrey's final statement:

"You know, for all the bitching about Florida blowing the election for Gore, why don't we hear about how if he had only been popular enough in his own fuckin' HOME STATE to carry their electoral votes, Florida wouldn't have mattered?!"

sums the entire situation up, for Florida, as well as the rest of the nation! Better proof of this can be seen in the Iowa Democrook Caucus, Dean (who certainly didn't help himself with his idiotic screaming/rabid dog impersonation on national T.V.) was ahead by a fairly wide margin, the personality of a board, dull, boring idiot , Gore endorsed Dean and immediatly, Dean plumeted out of contention for the nomination! That is pretty telling! Loser politicans caused the Flordia voting fuck-up, and they will do everything to cause another one in the next election, if they lose, or feel that it will benefit them and their cause/agenda in any way!

There were over 50,000 voters who never got as far the ballot box to try and figure anything out because they were illegaly denied their right to vote. By guess who; Katherie Harris the head of the Bush campaign in Fl.

Some more about the voter purge before the election. Sorry about the dual posts. The last post window would not accept theURL for some reason.

Its interesting that this voter purge story was front page news in England but pretty much squashed in the US.
The NY Times only recently acknowledged it. Over three years later.

Check out who is on the B.O.D at the NY times.
It explains a lot.

Um, if I remember correctly, she was elect to the House of Representatives, wasn't she? Doesn't look like the voters minded her actions all that much after all.

No different than Gore/Daley attempting to disinfranchise the votes of military personal by trying to have their ballots discounted! No question of the status of eligibility of military peresonal to vote, but Gore tried to deny them their right to vote, and that is a proven fact!

Yea, scary isn't it. But how many people in this country were aware of the illegal purge of voters.
The story was squashed.

How quashed was it? I heard those allegations, and apparently so did you. Every paper down here is OVERWHELMINGLY liberal, editorially (it is no secret, and it is plainly obvious in the columns), and not only that, the writers are syndicated. So don't try to pretend that the only reason she got elected is because the story of her alleged shenanigans never got out, because here you are talking about that very story that was supposedly not released.

The fact is, there is nothing that Gore complained about that he did not do himself. He tried very hard to jerry-rig the recounts so that only those counties in FL that are majority-registered democrat had their ballots recounted (seeking the extra few hundred that would have done the trick).

Florida law makes specific stipulations about the way recounts are to be done and the time that is given to do them. Gore bitched his way to the Florida Supreme Court -- OVERWHELMINGLY DEMOCRAT -- and they of course found (biased) in his favor. The problem is, their finding was absolutely not legal. They essentially gave open-ended time to do the recount when the STATE ELECTION LAW LIMITED THE TIME AND THAT TIME WAS PASSED. There was absolutely no basis at law for the amount of time the Florida supremes gave Gore's recount.

Gor did try to throw out tens of thousands of military absentee ballots -- so his claim of wanting to protect disenfranchised voters is just so much bullshit.

Down here in FL, the democraps are so friggin' desperate that their latest initiative is to whine about the loss of voting rights of FELONS.

Yep, that's right. The next power bloc of voters for Florida democrats will be the felons released from prison. They're trying to grease the wheels so that tens of thousands of scumbags can get out of prison, get their voting rights restored in an easier process, and then get the ex-con votes cast for the demoncraps who helped them out.

I dunno, if I were a politician, I wouldn't want mainstream America to realize that I was hot to get felons able to vote again so they could pay me back by voting for me. That's fuckin' pathetic, but hey, pathetic is the Democrats' middle name.

I seem to remember Gore trying to have a whole ton of overseas military ballot thrown out. If I remember correctly, military votes tend to be republican, don't they? But I'm sure that was just a coincidence and he had a really good reason for trying to take votes away from people who help make sure we are able to vote here at home.

Tom, I was aware of the "purging" of the voter records, as well...all the way out here in CA. And I was equally aware of Gore's attempts - as Kennedy pointed out - to "purge" the soldiers' votes, as well.

Seems to me that the story wasn't quashed....

I didn't know Florida had a Supreme Court and a Democratic one at that. See what happens when you skip civics class to smoke pot. The rest of the post speaks for itself.

Newsflash: Every state has a Supreme Court, even if they call it something else. [eg - MD calls it the Court of Appeals, but it's their SC]

For your state of Florida, click here for info about the state's Supreme Court.
