jumperconway 0 #29 February 24, 2004 QuoteShit, my little arms would have given out way before yours did. I would have just said fucke 'em I can't do this anymore. Esp. if they weren't going to help bring me back in the plane. Paige, I did try to help Yoshi get back in but the pilot had jacked up the airspeed and put it in a hard bank turn I needed help just to get my trailing leg back in the door. We were launching a hammer and I was tail. when he started his antics I was shoved to the point that had we exited I was sure that my shoulder would have dislocated. When I couldn't get him in, I provided a wind break to protect him from the blast.
Yoshi 0 #30 February 24, 2004 yeah... there was nothing the team could have done better to help me out.. conway and another jumper (sorry I cant remember her nam) were both trying to block the wind... I could have let go, but I didnt want to screw them over and not have video on thier dive (little did I know at that time I would take them out anyways:). it would have been a much bigger deal (possibly hurting myself or conway) if he tried any more to get me back in the plane. you can see the pressure that was put on him in the video (he says if he would have gone his shoulder would have disclocated) but it looked, from my point of view, and as seen on the video, that his shoulder was already out. I am surprized he even finished the dive after seeing his arm contorted in a very un-natural way._________________________________________ this space for rent. happythoughts 0 #32 February 24, 2004 Quote I saw JP, John, and Garth hang on to an Otter for over a mintue before they fell It seems that there are some good pilots who don't necessarily know how to fly formations. By themselves, great. With others... I was floating with Carey next to me when our plane stalled. You could feel the plane go over to pick up speed again. Our feet came up off the edge of the door. Then it flattened again. My feet hit the edge hard and I put my left arm around Carey and pulled in. My right arm hurt for 3 weeks.
jumperconway 0 #33 February 24, 2004 QuotePersonally I'd be pissed off at the 4 way team. They should realize that the team is 5 people, it one person has climbed out, its a go. JP, O/C had started the count when the antics began. She looked over her shoulder for a plane or something then people in the plane were trying to bring us back in because the red light was on. Same with tandems. If the camera is out. It's always a go. I have been forced to climb back into an A/C. It's not fun or safe. Communication before hand is important. If you're working for a team and they want to be responsible for the spot, let em tell you when to climb out. In fact wait for front float to climb out and save your muscles! Yoshi did wait for the O/C to give the ok to climb out but she pissed off the pilot for not climbing out on the green trying to wait for a spot that gave us a chance to ALL land on. We had a major clash with the uppers and lowers and people were landing off nearly every load. I'm pretty sure we were still going to go until people started pulling them back inside. diablopilot 2 #34 February 24, 2004 QuoteI'm pretty sure we were still going to go until people started pulling them back inside. Sounds like an f-ed up situation all the way around. Someone might want to mention to the people in the plane not to mess with the people in the door. Glad it all worked out, but the danger factor goes up by a lot the longer anyone is hanging outside an airplane. Control of the A/C is up set, CG is shot, The higher go around airspeeds increase the chances of a premeture deployment, if the A/C is not in a level configuration durring the go-around, and the stragler falls off they risk and A/C strike, plus a way off landing. Sounds like the Pilot may have contributed.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
Yoshi 0 #35 February 24, 2004 QuoteSounds like the Pilot may have contributed definately...which is the reason he appologized to almost everyone on the load and especially to me and the 4 way team that was in the door... its all good though..no one was hurt, and even if it wasnt a picture perfect skydive it was still a skydive(which is better than not going at all)_________________________________________ this space for rent. murphyka 0 #42 February 25, 2004 QuoteQuote..at least none of us were hurt (physically anyways) I am however emotionally scarred from being forced to wear a bumper suit for an entire day . I got a chance to watch the video of that jump on Sunday after the meet. Yoshi, you are definitely a trooper for hanging on that long, especially after seeing the strain on Conway's face looking back at you. I know that whole situation would have scared the piss out of me. I think as a reward, us bellyfliers might just have to arrange an SCR jump for you! Cory, I think you got off so easy on the bumper suit. Although it looked nice, I still think you could have found one much more colorful!! We'll work on that one for your next day of fun and adventure! And by the way, you flew awesome for a freeflyer....tunnel rat!!!! Conway, you did all you could to make things easier for Yoshi. I'd be more than gracious for your efforts. Very worthy of a beer afterwards. I agree that jump #5 sucked!!!! Here's hopin' for some blue in the sky for the weekend!! KimBlue Skies!!!
