The only reason I put the word whuffos in there was to show that it was someone who had never jumped. If I had put "are people really this stupid" I would have meant the same thing. I'm not complaining about people asking questions, but rather disturbed about people wanting to "bend the rules" and put themselve and my club at risk. As to the comment about the drinking age, ok... So tell your teenage son or daughter to walk into a bar and ask if it's ok to drink. Same thing... So our dz follows the rules, we're just a small college club, we can't risk taking chances and I for one aren't going to put a student in the air knowing that they are exceeding the TSO of the reserve. Once they get their license and they are making their own decissions, then that is up to them, but while they're under my supervision I won't allow for cutting corners.<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!
