Oklahoma

So I am going to be living in Oklahoma City for about 2 or 3 months.
What is the best closest DZ? And does anyone live there?

Heaven help me, I'm nostalgic from time to time for Oklahoma! :S Kris can hook you up. There are several good DZ's down there, but you might want to make the couple hours drive down to Dallas if you want anything larger then a Cesna 182 to get out of. On one hand, they are fun little planes to jump, but on the other, slow climb to low altitude.

OSC in Cushing is our home DZ. I'm not sure who all is still there, but Mike runs a very safe, friendly DZ. I miss the trips to Chili's in Stillwater with the group and the indoor packing, Vid room, etc, etc, there. We've been to Hinton a few times as well. Nice, nice people too. Also indoor packing and nice facilities. We were up to Tulsa area just a couple of times, ditto the people there as well.

No end to DZ's, plenty of flat landing areas if you can get off the wind holds ;)!

I will most likely be going back up there laterpart of next week or so. Staying for about 90 to 120 Days. But with the schedule I built for this project, it will hopefully only be about 90 days.

I will only be able to get away one day a week at most, and not every week. But if I dont get to jump once a month my boss knows I might kill someone or explode.

So, if anyone lives in OKC and wants to practice their beer drinking skills and show me the cool places to go there, shoot me a pm.

No one around to jump???? Must have been before my time. I've been there about 2 1/2 years and there's never a shortage of jumpers.

For perky77...since you're coming from OKC either OSC(cushing) or Hinton is a great place to go. However, if you want turbine then your only option is Dallas.

Skydive Dallas is the ONLY option. There are several of us that make the drive. What timeframe are you talking about?
D.J.

Not really. Skydive Skyranch at Siloam Springs,AR is roughly the same distance as Dallas and they are supposed to have a a King Air all summer. We've gotten more than a few people from the OKC area. I was curious and asked why they'd drive to AR and they said the DZ had a rep for safety and cool atmosphere. Now I admit that I am a little more than biased, but Skyranch is tight. We're family, but we're not club-ish. And skygods are no where to be seen.

You're living in OKC for a bit? I knew you said you were going to have to go to OK, but I didn't know there. Heh, lived in Midwest City for a few years when I was a kid...I'm still in theorpy about that.:P

Lets see...the best DZ in OK is right near Sherman, TX, its called SD Dallas.;):P Its about a 3hr drive and you get to drive by Arbuckle Wilderness on the way.
