PhreeZone 20 #4 March 1, 2004 Gone... they told Dave it was violating the Terms of Service. Its gone to be a hard site to find a host for cheap on. It uses all the bandwidth you give it ever, it grows every month... (12+ gig now I tihnk) and every one wants it to be fast, while it remains a volenteer project with no budget. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

jumpinjackflash 0 #6 March 1, 2004 Shit that bites. Pretty much exactly what I was expecting. I produce streaming vid for a living, so I'm all too aware of where your going with that. So, no prospects right now? This sucks, that site really was nice, jackIt's a gas, gas, gas...

PhreeZone 20 #8 March 1, 2004 Best option is to go Co-located. Put together the hardware and ship it off to someone to rack and host. I've seen options starting at about $125-150 a month for bandwidth and storage fees with at $500 set fee. I saw another option at about $175-200 a month with a $250 start up fee. Its not cheap and I could'nt justify that as a hobby expence in adition to jumping. Dropzone.com had to go to a dedicated server solution since it out grew its shaed box setup, then the hard ware had to be upgraded later to keep up with the larger demand then too. I could see the same issue happening with SkydivingMovies if it went dedicated. That or everyone would need to keep quiet on their bitching about slowdowns and you know that won't happen since there have been about 10 threads about it being down. I hope a solution is found though.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
