Para-Flite originally designed the MT-1XX series for muscular military freefallers who routinely jump with rucksack, rifle and snowshoes. HALO officers jump with 100 pound rucksacks, while the enlisted men - who do the real work - routinely jump with much heavier rucksacks.

I disagree, because the different fabrics wear out at different rates. The ZP fabric slider will remain ZP for most of its life, while the rest of the canopy will gradually increase in porosity. Eventually the slider will "win the argument" at opening time and the canopy will never open.

You would be wiser to follow mjosparky's advice about installing the larger, lipped slider recommended by Para-Flite ... the slider that came stock with later versions of that canopy.
