diverdriver 7 #9 March 1, 2004 QuoteYou were a punk?? You could never tell by the "straight laced" look you have in your avatar. Well....fortunately no evidence exists anymore of those days other than I know most industrial / punk / new wave music. I used to DJ in Florida for our school's radio station doing Industrial (Show called Industrial Espionage), a RAVE show, and a general alternative show. Did parties, and got into the local club scene as a B list DJ. Combat boots, black flared out pants, mohawk died black and roostered at times. Yep, scary but true. Present at most mosh pits. Al Jourgenson is one of my college day heros. Waxtrax! for ever!
lawrocket 3 #10 March 1, 2004 When I was young I was so full of fear I hid behind anger Held back the tears IT was me against the world I was sure that I'd win But the world fought back Punished me for my sins I felt so alone So insecure I blamed you instead Made sure I was heard They tried to warn me Of my evil ways But I couldn't hear What they had to say I was wrong. Self destruction got me again. I was wrong. I realize now that I was wrong. - Social Distortion Yeah, I never looked like a punker, but I sure loved the stuff. That song is kind of my motto now. My personal anthem. Why? Because I was wrong. My wife is hotter than your wife.

diverdriver 7 #15 March 1, 2004 QuoteAhhh..then you must be a true fan of the hard core punk styling of Green Day and the like OH PUKE!!!! And Rancid too. Ugh. Yah....video of live version "Land of Rape and Honey". Al whaling away and Ogre from Skinny Puppy on stage with him. Man, I lost my copy of "In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up". It's a copy from that concert. Wish I had my copy of "Ain't if Dead Yet" video too. Heard it was on DVD but they messed up the audio a bit on it. Don't know if I'll get it. Anyone remember Camper VanBethoven? "Take the Skinheads Bollowing".
lawrocket 3 #16 March 1, 2004 QuoteSaw Social D last year at the Trocadero....they still kick ass.... Dang, and I was thinking that I was the person responsible for spreading the gospel of Social D to the east coast when I was in Virginia for a few months in 1997. Again, "I was wrong." I've seen them a few times. Interestingly, Mike Ness has changed a bit since Denny Dannell died a couple of years ago. Ness will do a lot of shows on his own now, and he focuses a lot on rockabilly and psychobilly with a heavy dose of country influence. Ness is an amazing guy, and Social D is a great band. My wife is hotter than your wife.

PhillyKev 0 #20 March 1, 2004 If you have the chance...every year, the weekend after Thanksgiving in King of Prussia (Philly Burbs) they have the rock expo. The largest of its kind anywhere in the world. You can find vinyl, cassette, cd, dvd, video and merchandise for just about every live event that ever happened. For example I got video recorded off local PBS in San Fran of the Dead playing NYE at Winterland, 1968. Have a 3 camera shoot of Nirvana in Rio De Janeiro from a local station down there. Had a home made bootleg of Anthrax playing in Scott Ian's garage just before they got signed (but the tape got eaten ) My friend got a video of KISS's first show in Japan. diverdriver 7 #21 March 1, 2004 QuoteCamper van Beethover? I figured you'd be more into Cracker. LOL.... Oh well. Ok, Ministry side projects: 1000 Homo DJs, Acid Horse (got both of these with my order), Revolting Cocks (or Revco) Skinny Puppy begat Front Line Assembly with Bill Loeb (Bloeb) which begat Delirium. Remember Bolock Brothers? Harly-Davi-SonOfABitch
PhillyKev 0 #22 March 1, 2004 If you want to see an interesting show...go see Henry Rollins doing a spoken word show. I thought he was going to be playing, but it was him reading poetry...very interesting....that guy's got more opinions than all Talkback posters combined. I had tickets to see the Circle Jerks with GBH last year, but had to work
