Yoshi 0 #1 March 3, 2004 a few friends and I are looking to start a web page for some skydiving stuff... I am not very computer literate... looking for fairly inexpensive, or free, not really fancy... you know something just simple and easy to navigate.. any suggestions?_________________________________________ this space for rent. aprilcat 0 #3 March 3, 2004 You can go to www.homestead.com I think their cheapest package is about $5 with ads, but they have a free 30-day trial so you have time to play around and see what you want to do. There's a really good drag & drop feature, so you really don't hve to know html coding and all that. Let me know what you think~~April Camelot II, the Electric Boogaloo! turtlespeed 226 #5 March 3, 2004 Will the smaller ones host video?I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

PhreeZone 20 #7 March 3, 2004 You need a good host. Look around and find one that has what you want at a price you can live with. Free sites get shut down all the time for bandwidth limits and other things. You are best to just sit and play with things like Frontpage and Dreamweaver if you don't want to actually learn HTML.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
skyyhi 0 #8 March 3, 2004 Most of the smaller ones have limited bandwidth. . .so not really great for multiple hits. . .or video.________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy

Trent 0 #10 March 3, 2004 Try netfirms.com, smartguy. We use them and their packages are pretty cheap and the service is good. You can get enough bandwidth to do SOME video hosting. See you this weekend.Oh, hello again!
pilotdave 0 #11 March 3, 2004 Infinology (wont even bother posting a link) has very cheap hosting (under $7/month for 9 gigs of hosting), but they're lying bastards out to steal your money... at least as far as I'm concerned. Stay far far away! Edit: Just to be more specific... under 33% of the traffic from your site must be html files. Thats why they can offer 9-35 gigs of space. It's virtually impossible to actually use that much space because of their rules. If you want to have a gigantic site with nearly all text and a few pictures, then fine. But damn near any site that big is going to have more other stuff than text. Dave
Cornholio 0 #12 March 3, 2004 I use www.powweb.com for 7.77/month (when paid yearly) They allow 1GB of space and up to 5GB/day in downloads. I host my videos off it and have not run into any problems. Plus they got a cool user forum that has answers to almost any web question ever asked. AND - the speed is nice. I easily get 1MB/sec transfer rates up/down from my work (which I think is in the center of the Internet...FAT PIPES - LOL ) Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah!
