Handcuff usage

Recommended Posts

Yeah, the tube key goes in the lock-unlock key hole, and once the handcuffs are properly adjusted over the handcuff bone specifically located on the wrist by God to assist in restraint, the ratchet lock is engaged by pushing that punch hole in. Then to take the cuffs off, you turn the key one direction to unlock the ratchet and the other way to unlock the cuffs.

Properly adjusted you can't get out of them. And If I were to see you trying we'd upgrade to zip ties, waist chains and legirons.

yea thats how i ended up hogtied and put out on the porch in the rain >:(...

but if i'm unsupervised, even "properly applied" (if i've got a paperclipish item, and i always do before I start running my mouth about it at family gatherings) i've had every LEO in my extended family+ cuff me and i can get out of them in under 5 min.. my best time was 1:15 but that was 'ready, set, go'

i really really wanted to be houdini when i was a kid......:)

I prefer, and am sure my 'victims' prefer, the mens necktie or panty hose approach. They hold quite nicely without casuing any pain and leaving too many marks.
Did I say that out loud??

Huh.. and you look sooooo innocent.;)

Based on watching Cops on T.V. isn't the purpose of the ratchet lock to prevent the Bracelets from tightening up on the bad boy/girl, If they were to lean against them. How come on T.V. (Cops) it looks like officers use a pen to lock up the ratchet.

Also isn't the purpose of the ratchet mechanism so one size bracelets fit all size wrists.

It's looks stange when a real big guy/girl gets hooked up and the police have to use two pair of bracelets beause one pair can't reach both wrists.

I would not want to be a police officer. The customers usually aren't very nice people.

On the other hand for recreation purposes maybe, as long as I didn't have to wear them. Forget that I would always end up wearing them[:/]

R.I.P.

I've seen some gang members (mostly white types) who can get out of hand cuffs (double locked and cuffed in the rear) extremely quickly if they are allowed to wiggle around unsupervised. It is very impressive. I've even seen pictures of gang members arrested with needles inserted under their skin in the wrist area (I've never seen it myself, I don't work gangs). When handcuffed they had planned on pulling the pin out and picking the cuffs with it.

They are using a longer key that is shaped like a pen. It is easier to handle than the small regular cuff key.

Some guys are so big and inflexible that they can't get their hands close enough behind them in order to get a regular set of cuffs on them. The chain is too short. We've had to use leg irons for hand cuffs to cuff some really big guys. They make large cuffs too. Sometimes the regular sized cuffs won't fit around their wrists.

Most of them are nice. Sometimes it just takes a little persuasive dialogue to bring out their manners.:)

hidden needles has been a magicians staple for years...my times were never very good comparatively one of the reasons i knew i never had much of a future as an escape artist...

i think many depts have gone to flexcuffs for exactly that reason, much cheaper and they dont come off till you cut them...

Reminds me of another great quote from the Mardi Gras Boogie.

Packaho: "Did you see my Duct Tape?"

Me: "Sweety....Do you REALLY think that I have been standing around here this long and NOT looked at your ass?" :D:D:D:D I couldn't help it. It's just so damn nice to look at. ;)

was chatting with a friend this evening and the subject of handcuffs came up. Don't ask why or how, you don't want to know. She mentioned that when she sees handcuffs on a police officer she often wonders what percentage of those cuffs have seen... err.... "non-official" usage.

So. Those of you out there who own handcuffs, and especially those who must own and carry them as part of your job...

Have you ever used 'em recreationally??

I dont own handcuffs BUT.......I have found some really fun things to do with our removed RSL's ;)
:$ Really...try em sometime :$

No.....but I'm game;)

oh, oh, pick me, pick me

Hopefully I'll be wearing the tin and steel for Charlotte or Columbia in 4-6 months, so the handcuffs will be issued shortly. >:(>:(>:(
