Is this true?

Since when did Snopes become the final, here-all say-so on what's true or not?

For urban legend and random stories like this circulating the web, well it became the truth about 4 or 5 years ago.

There are many websites, some are good with real info, some are not, you have to choose. Snopes happens to be one that the large majority of netizens hold to be true.

A lot of people believe in Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, aliens, Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy too. Doesn't mean it makes it true.

At least I know your logic now.

First of all, you have no clue if the majority of netizens believe it is true or not. I am pretty sure there's been no poll asking people if they believe what Snopes says is indeed fact or myth. I know I was never polled. So that statement about it being believed by the majority of the people is just made up.

Secondly, even if the majority of the people did believe it was true, it still doesn't make it the bible. That would be like saying, "God is real because the majority of people believe in God." It's a debatable topic.

Best we not put complete faith in anything a website tells us just because you think it's one that the majority of the netizens holds to be true.

We'll chalk Snopes right up there with the National Enquirer and other unreliable media outlets.

To hijack the thread a bit, I happen to love Paul Harvey. Jesus, surprised that man is still alive. Or is he? Is it repeats or does he still do it live? Regardless, I remember listening to him all the time when we were stationed at MacDill and Pensacola on call. Those were the good ole days when you had Paul Harvey, Bob Lassiter and Bruce Williams. Loved those guys.

Peace

Snopes has been proven true many many times and I've never seen or heard of it being proven untrue.

So sure, you can put it up on the list with crap rags like National Enquire if you want, that's your call. You don't have to believe any outlet of information, if you don't want to.
