Favorite movie theme

Recommended Posts

Hehe, I used a Braveheart theme remixed on one of my big way movies (Brit100)

But am disppointed not to see Enio Morricone's themes from Fistfull of Dollars, Good the bad and the Ugly, and Afew Dollars more mentioned....
Not to mention his haunting works on other flicks.:)

Awww, damn, I just watched The Dead Zone the other night (again) and now I can't think of the composer's name. His work is both amazing and ubiquitous, like Danny Elfman's.
(I just looked it up -- it's Michael Kamen.) :)
I also love the theme music to Last of the Mohicans, and The Fifth Element.

Grease is an amazing soundtrack, and the theme song is such a treasured memory from my childhood.

edit: Go here to see the staggering list of movie and television scores Michael Kamen produced in his career. I was saddened to read that he died of a heart attack in 2003.

Dude the soundtrack to Dazed and Confused rocks!

And i dunno if many of you have seen it but there's a movie called "Ravenous" that came out a few years back - the music was done by Damon Albarn and has to be some of the strangest, most disconcerting and just plain scary stuff i have ever heard!

I distractedly watched that movie (as much as I could) and enjoyed it. I have to see it again and I will now pay attention to the soundtrack. Thanks for the tip! :)

My favorite bit of 2001 music trivia is that there is actually a score you can buy to 2001 that is not in the movie. what happened was kubrick had a guy write a score for the movie, and then while editing he was listening to the music that ended up being in the film because he thought it worked really well.

i have to agree...i love that movie.

Sorry, but my memory is not working that great right now, but I do remember an epic movie starring Kevin Costner (not Field of Dreams or Waterworld) that he did about 10 years ago. It was a period piece in the time when the Indians were being slaughtered. Can't think of the name, but I remember the music being excellent.

Other choices:

The Lion King
Home Alone 2
All the Rocky's (who doesn't get chills when the theme song kicks in?)
Cruel Intentions
Indiana Jones Trilogy
Star Wars

I'm sure there are many more.

Since we had talked about it at length before, I left it off, I guess that was a long time ago, I should have mentioned it again.B|

I really like the title track from the "Stargate" feature film.

It's very bold with lots of brass, and has an adventurous quality to it. It was as though it was painted with sound.

Superb track.
