If they weren't one, they wouldn't be the other, would they?

Cheney's daughter, Mary, is gay

Didn't know that, which just goes to show that anything is fair in an election year and why I trust half of what I read, a quater of what I hear and none of what a politcian says;)

The "Log Cabins" are crypto-Republicans (in other words, liberal Democrats masquerading as conservatives for the purpose of undermining conservatism).

I disagree. I am not a republican, owing to the fact that I am not an American. If, however, I was an American, I would be a straight, anti-Bush Republican. The difference between Ronald Reagan and either of the Bushes is that The Great Communicator appealed to both the So-Con wing and the Libertarian wings of the party, and both Bushes tend(ed) to ailienate those who are not currently in favour. With Bush senior it was the economic libertarians who just want the gov to let them earn their living. Bush Junior has completely abandoned the social libertarians who just want the gov to let them live their life. The end result will be the same; a one term presidency.

From their website:
----------------------------
What we believe

We are loyal Republicans. We believe in low taxes, limited government, strong defense, free markets, personal responsibility, and individual liberty. Log Cabin represents an important part of the American family-taxpaying, hard working people who proudly believe in this nation's greatness. We also believe all Americans have the right to liberty, freedom, and equality. Log Cabin stands up against those who preach hatred and intolerance. We stand up for the idea that all Americans deserve to be treated equal-regardless of their sexual orientation.

Why we exist

The mere existence of our organization recognizes the fact that the Republican Party still has a long way to go on issues affecting gay and lesbian civil rights. In recent years, the GOP has made important strides toward inclusion, however much more must be done. Too many people in the party remain hostile to gay and lesbian civil rights. Log Cabin will confront the radical right's bigotry head-on as we join the majority of Republicans who believe inclusion wins.
-----------------------------

So is it your opinion that republicans must be homophobes to be "true" republicans?

Uh Mark... what ever it is you were smoking in the pipe when you wrote that.. Please put down the pipe now... The hallucinations are getting far worse now. You are seeing LIBERALS EVERYWHERE....

I would say most of the Log Cabin types are..... from what I have read... economically motivated due to most of them being in a tax bracket that the core values of the Republican party used to appeal to. But with the curent travesty of tax cuts for the very wealthy.. and the rampant spending and deficits they have gotten WAYYYY out into right field. Thats the field that President Eisenhower warned about. He knew them all too well. Beware the military industrial complex because right now it has this country by the throat and is choking the life from this country.

And Americans for Gun Safety (AGS) claims they are not anti-gun. Except for the fact that they support every piece of anti-gun legislation being considered right now, encourage more gun control, are honoring Hillary Clinton, and are supporting an anti-gun bit of propaganda that the BATFE has specifically refuted, yeah, they seem like upstanding NRA sorts. :S

Come on bill, have you never seen a website that says one thing and supports another?
