THE TEN COMMANDMENTS - TEXAS STYLE

People here in Texas have trouble with all those shalls and shall nots in the 10 Commandments.
Folks here just aren't used to talking in those terms. So, some folks out in west Texas got
together and translated the "King James" into "King Ranch" language: Ten Commandments, cowboy
Style.

Cowboy's Ten Commandments

(1) Just one God.

(2) Honor yer Ma & Pa.

(3) No telling tales or gossipin'.

(4) Git yourself to Sunday meeting.

(5) Put nothin' before God.

(6) No foolin' around with another fellow's gal.

(7) No killin'.

(8) Watch yer mouth.

(9) Don't take what ain't yers.

(10) Don't be hankerin' for yer buddy's stuff.

Now that's kinda plain an' simple don't ya think? Y'all have a good
Day.:)

Damn straight! I'm going to take you around A&M's campus as well, there is a LOT of Texas history on that campus (well, if you want to). At the very least you can go to the bird (the Dixie Chicken) and drink some beer and play some bones (42).B|

Let's not forget that football (American rules) originated in 1876 as a game between Harvard and Yale, as a variant of Rugby, which originated in England. Texas wasn't consulted.

??? You need to explain that.

Dave, I love doing the tourist thing, so bring it on. Turtle has a meeting on the 24th, so I'll be looking for something to do that day.

I don't want to hijack this thread either, my dates for arriving are some time around the 23rd. I'll be at Turtle and Dave's DZ digs till the morning of March 28th. So far I got no takers on driving out with me.

I didn't believe this, so I looked it up.

According to mapquest, Beaumont to El Paso is 831 miles.
Beaumont to Chicago is 1094.

Granted those are driving miles, it may be different if you calculate As The Otter Flies.

I'm pretty sure there are several hotels in Biloxi, Mississippi, built over water.
I don't have an M.D. or a law degree. I have bachelor's in kicking ass and taking names.
