Slappie 9 #1 March 11, 2004 My father had a stroke on Monday. He's sitting in the VA hospital right now. His right leg is paralysed. He's starting to get some control back. It's very limited though, but it's a good sign.. Anyways, my boss came to me this morning asking for his details, hospital, room number etc... My first thoughts were, he was checking up on me to make sure I'm not lying about this or that to get time off. Well he just came back to me and said our dept. has sent my dad a nice bunch of flowers he told me alittle while later that he knows I'm strapped for cash and thought it would be a nice thing to do for me. Since they can't do anything to help except to wish me well and hope my father gets better. He's also given me as much time off to do whatever it is I need to do. I've not been much of a "company man" but this jesture was pretty touching. I work for a very large company an for them to single out a peon like me and take the time to remember we're people was very nice. But this was a very big surprise to me, that they took the time an money (whatever small amount it is) to do this for me.
