carbonezone 0 #1 February 18, 2004 ok guys please take this advise.... I used Farnam Bio-Spot on Hercules and Tommy (my dogs..most of you know them) last night and the outcome is devistating!! Tommy is fine but hercules is was not walking until 2 hours ago. He is twitching....and just wont really move. I called one of the only vets I trust DOC SHERRI and she advised of what to do. We think herc will be ok but not sure. All of you who know me KNOW how much our herc means to us. We sit here just watching him now hoping that he will be ok. Doc says give it till tomorrow. I did a seach on the net and found out horrible storys for this product. PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO ANY PET USERS. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT I am freaking the fuck out. I just wanted to pass this on asap. If you have used this product please go to the link I have below http://www.elversonpuzzle.com/biospot.html

ManBird 0 #7 February 18, 2004 Two dogs... BioSpot... both sick. A trillion dollars says they licked each other's backs. ANY flea and tick removal such as this is not to be taken orally. It should be applied between the shoulder blades where your pet's mouth cannot reach. If you have more than one pet, you should isolate them for at least 24 hours after application. I use Advantage, not BioSpot, but the same thing would have happened if the animals were not isolated, or it was applied to far past the shoulder blades. Your dogs will get better. I knew a lady who gave a LOT of it to her cat ORALLY (didn't read the directions), and the cat still lived... just had a rough week or so."¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click
airann 1 #8 February 18, 2004 KRAP fUKIN BASTARDS. QuoteAll of you who know me KNOW how much our herc means to us. YES, I know for a fact. Sweetheart, hang in there with Herc. Sherri knows all too good Herc's medical history. So, its going to work out. He is a tuff SOB, just like my Godfather over there, Scotty. I have been using garlic for fleas and tape worms. Seems to be working.... Cant tell yet. They say that flea/tape worms dont appreciate the environment anymore and will pack their bags. It also keeps off the neighbor who is a vampire. You never see that guy in the daytime. Love to all and my serious prayers for the little guy. {{{{{{{ V I B E S }}}}}}}}}}}}} FROM ALL SIX OF MY KIDS. Tell Scotty that 'Little" now weighs about 160 or so. I think Skeet misses his cooking too, erg. I know for a fact he misses Scotty. See my post earlier of "My kid is four years old" there you see recent pic of Skeet on his birthday- Valentines Day. & where on the planet are YOU?? All the love, Ann ps. Olav Zipster my Shih Tzu, has a patch of dry skin on his back - I put some heavy hand lotion on there and 3 fleas suffocated. Bastards. They also say that any shampoo will suffocate a flea. I use, in the flea season, spritz of Front Line spray after a standard bath. Skeet walks in the big shower with me no trouble. He likes it but we barely fit and its a big ass walk in shower. Cedar chips around the yard will run a flea off as well. I got long lists of helpful hints. I will post them soon on BarkHard.com. ~AirAnn~

carbonezone 0 #10 February 18, 2004 QuoteThank you. I have a Corgi and a Beagle that would have gotten this product in spring. Thanks for the warning. You are welcome Bobsled...warning people was the point of the post. NO ONE SHOULD USE THIS PRODUCT!!!! I have always used Atvantage until now. We have not been working so I cut corners and bought this FUCKEN no good BIO-SPOT. I only wish I would have researched it ahead of time instead of after the fact. No animal should go through what herc went through and no Pet Owner should have to witness it! UPDATE ON HERC He appears to be progressing. I stayed up and monitered him and held him threw the twitching most of the night. With quite a bit of persuasion (had to be lifted) he went out to go pee-pee this morning. He suddenly bolted on all 3's almost as good as new!!!! He still stopped and rolled a few times but its PROGRESS!!!! THANKS -- to everyone who has shown their love and concern Herc sends giant doggy <> to you all Please remember the cause for this post! DONT USE THIS PRODUCT. OK - ANN How the hell are you!!!! I will not take up anymore long winded words on this post ""I DONT WANT TO STRAY FROM ITS PURPOSE"" I will PM you!!!!!! Love to all <> Herc, and a now very grey haired Mommy! Hi Manbird.....Tommy (other dog) did NOT get sick just Herc. No licking going on they were seperated. Yea, I alway have used advantage in the past and have never had any problems. Even though they were seperated after I applied it, it was not done for the licking reason...it just kind of worked out that way (Scotty took tommy for a ride when he came home he went right to sleep). That does however bring up a good point and I will keep it in mind the next time I apply ADVANTAGE!! Lets just say....I wont be using ANYTHING for at least a few months!! <> Tami EDITED TO ADD: Sorry for all the cussing....
ifall 0 #12 February 18, 2004 Hope your dog's doing better. I just talked to my sister who is a vet tech and she said they have seen some severe reactions to Bio-spot. You probably already did this but in case you didn't she said to definitely give the dog a bath. We use Top Spot on our dogs and it seems to work very well. It sucks when something happens to your babies. I have an english mastiff that got spooked by fireworks and ran of into a 2000 acre park. Finally found him after 1 week but I was worthless until we found him.
Pammi 0 #13 February 18, 2004 Wow. Thanks for the heads up Tammy! We have 3 dogs and 3 cats that all have to get the flea treatments and I thought about buying it in the store to make it cheaper recently, but ended up buying Advantage online instead since it was what I'm used to and it works so well. I'm glad that I did now! I hope your baby is doing better. Pam

ManBird 0 #15 February 18, 2004 The other possibility is that your dog is too light for the type/dosage it received. If you received BioSpot and instructions from a vet, you should definitely take it up with him or her."¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click
SkydiveNFlorida 0 #16 February 18, 2004 Biospot is over the counter. I have heard bad things about the product, also. I had my dogs on Advantage, then switched to Frontline (flea/tick) until I decided to use Revolution (flea & heartworm & other parasites), great product!. Angela.
