Big government has 260 or so million of us and there's really no way they can even keep track of the "evil doers" let alone anyone else. I far more fear "Little Brother". quade 4 #29 March 10, 2004 He asked which "Father". I replied Guido Sarducci (aka "Father" Guido Sarducci). One of the characters from the early days of SNL. I made another reference to another character, Emily Latella as well. What relevance any of this has to do with the quote is purely stream of conciousness and free association. Geeze, I thought that was perfectly clear. (Nixon reference BTW)quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

quade 4 #33 March 10, 2004 Emily Latella was a character on SNL played by Gilda Radner. She would go on the Weekend Update segment and give a rebuttal to an editorial. People actually used to do that 30 or so years ago. The character was somewhat old and obviously not all there and the gag was that she would NOT hear something quite right. The gag would go something like. "What's all this non-sense I hear about people protesting the violins on television? Violins make a lovely sound and are quite nice. I think it's a shame that we can't have -more- violins on television!" Her rant would go on for maybe a couple of minutes. At that point someone would correct her . . . "Miss Latella, that's violence. There's to much violence on television." She'd then suddenly understand her error and -always- end by saying "Well, that's different then. . . never mind." As for Nixon, he was pretty famous for saying that he wanted to "make one thing perfectly clear". Kinda like the Clinton "I did not have sex with that woman" quote.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Amazon 7 #36 March 10, 2004 I know.. its freakin BIZARRE.. maybe the poll last week has fostered a new endeavor to find instances of government intrusion.. which kinda goes along with the whole evil government wants your guns thought. So lets all see where this one goes. The Right wing does not like government intrusion.. yet it is doing more of that than ANY previous government in this country.. for now its somewhat benign... or at least appears to be.. but if we get one more serious terrrorist attack.. and marshal law is declared it will have all the tools it needs.
