Hasek could be the worst goalie to slap on a pair of skates and he would STILL be a great man with good morals and integrity. kpjumps 0 #15 March 13, 2004 I am not trying to knock what he did~ seeing someone in sports with morals is great. Especially if you are the mom of a teenage son. But who gets the money now, does it go back to line the pocket of some way too well off manager? He had an injury, what about donating the money to a health organization that treats kids whose parents can't afford treatment, or a sports program for inner city kids? Any non profit of his choice? Again I am not knocking the guy, it takes morals to do what he did and I applaud him for it. But did he just make some rich guy richer?Your character will ultimately determine your destiny. He has a hungry child in the car, so he buys food for them. Does he have fewer morals than the other guy? Not a chance, he had a different set of circumstances. Did man two act improperly? I remember several years ago, Teemu Selanne signed an extension with the Ducks. It was for about 2/3 of what he would have been worth on the open market. Selanne said something to the effect of, "I like security, and I won't scrimp over every dime. And anyway, that's a helluva lot of money!" And Hasek may be the best goaltender alive.
