Vallerina 2 #1 March 12, 2004 New Orleans has Mardi Gras. New York has New Year's. But nobody in the states can beat Chicago for St. Patrick's Day! We even turn our already green-tinted river into a beautiful bright green river for this parade. So, it seems that our very own Clay (freeflir29 for those who haven't caught on) is getting himself into some trouble on St. Patty's Day! Last Wed, he let me know that he'll be coming into MDW at about 4 this Wed. Who else wants to be Irish for a Day this Wednesday? If I get drunk enough, I do the Irish Jig!There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
RevJim 0 #2 March 12, 2004 QuoteWho else wants to be Irish for a Day this Wednesday? If I get drunk enough, I do the Irish Jig! I really am Irish, not just for a day. Well, ok, 1/4 Irish. Up here, a neighbor town, New London, actually changes their name for a week to New Dublin. Pub crawls, beer, parades, beer, corned beef and cabbage, and beer. It's a kick ass time. Did I mention we drink alot of beer? It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#

ChasingBlueSky 0 #13 March 12, 2004 Look for me in the downtown parade on Sat! I am usually the group right behind the Mayor. Still haven't decided if I am going to the South Side or not - haven't found anyone that thinks they will be sober in time to make it out there before noon. Val, I'll PM you my cell#. I live about 4 blocks from MDW and I can meet up with you guys! I know all the good Irish bars on the south side! Quigley's is a good one - on 111th and Pulaski where Riley's daughter used to be. ChasingBlueSky 0 #21 March 12, 2004 I love that song - but this is one of my favorites: ATHEN RYE v.1 By lonely prison wall I heard a young girl calling, "Michael, they have taken you away !" You stold Tim Valien's corn so the young might see the morn. Now a prison ship lies waiting in the bay." Chorus: And low lies the fields of Athen Rye, Where once we watched the small free birds fly. Our love was on the wing; we had dreams and songs to sing, Its so lonely round the fields of Athen Rye. v.2 By lonely prison walls, I heard a young man calling, "Nothing matters Mary when your free.Against the famine And the crown I rebelled they cut me down, Now you must raise our child with dignity." cho. By lonely harbor wall, she watched the last star falling. As the prison ship sailed out against the sky. Now she lives and hopes and prays for her love in Botany bay Its so lonely round the fields of Athen Rye. cho._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....
