Update on my ankle

Recommended Posts

Careful sunny! I dated my anesthesiologist from my leg surgery for awhile and it was NOT a positive experience. He, too, had a few jumps (military) and that got us talking. I at least waited until after the 2nd surgery to get the hardware out but I wish I had never dated him at all. *shiver*

Glad you're home and in recovery mode. Love ya girlie!:)

Apparently he wasn't a very good anesthesiologist.....if he was, he would've known which drugs to drop in your drinks to make it a VERY positive, happy experience.. :D

Does it count if I'm not your anesthesiologist?? I'll make it as positive an experience as I can, lol.

Dear Sunshine,

I don't come here much anymore so I can only imagine what you were doing to hurt that ankle (if anyone wants the detailed info on that image, you can paypal me 9.95). I wish you a speedy recovery and hope to see you soon. Take a break from the kinky stuff and heal fast, k?

Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

hopefully not too long. I had a friend shatter both tib & fib @ end of Feb - now he has a metal rod in the bigger/outter one. His doc expects no more than a 2 month recovery...

that'd put you smack in the middle of Chicagoland weather finally starting to behave. :)

BTW, is this your first injury? In my humble, very inexperienced experience; everyone gets one - just be greatful it's not that much of a biggie.

It is my first major injury. I always had the mindset that it happened to other people, not to me. I mean, i'm so safety conscious and just never thought i would break myself. From what everyone tells me, it was just a freak accident. My foot got stuck in the mud while the rest of my body kept going forward. I can play the "what if i did this differently" game, but it just drives me nuts. I admit that i'm scared as hell to jump again, but i know skydiving is part of me that i can't give up. Having the support of everyone is so wonderful, makes me deal with this alot better.

Those are the worst!! When you could have done nothing to prevent it - shhesh.

Please, Don't let it scare you from jumping. You'll get in one or 2 intrepid jumps when your better & forget all about it. Esp since this'll keep you out of the air while everyone else is gettin re-current - you'll be jonesin for a jump.

Freak accidents can happen to anyone. I was just talking w/ a friend about this the other day. She had a friend that worked in an office that was directly hit by the 1st 9/11 plane; however, he stayed home that day cause his son was sick. Later that day, while his wife was lookin in on the child; he urned on the TV. The sound was up so loud it shook the wall - well, a large picture that was hanging above his chair fell down, hit him so hard on the head that he died!! This is not a shit story, my friend is good friends w/ the family.

Anyway, my point is that if it's suppose to happen, it will. Esp those freak ones... ones that could've been prevented - perhaps it's the persons fault. Anyway....

supportive friends are what makes the world go round! Anyone is blessed to have them!

:D My first jump back after breaking my ankle was a 100 plus way. Talk about being worried under canopy:S

Hurray! You belong up there with us Sunshine and that's just a fact.
We had so much fun on that jump with Mad John just before the 'incident" I think about the jump and get giddy still.

Hey Sunshine, the snow is pouring down right now, good thing the sun isn't shining or you would really feel bad about missing things! We DID miss you Sat night, but like Dave said we drank one (pitcher apiece) in your honor.
