Update on my ankle

Recommended Posts

Well i went in for surgery yesterday morning at 9:00am. I now have a metal plate and screw in my ankle. I go to the orthopedic doc on Friday for a check up. Hopefully i'll get some xrays of my hardware so i can share. Thanks to everyone that called me yesterday to see how i was doing. You all rock.

Glad to hear things went well. Now take care of yourself so we can see you soon.

I'm gonna try and get to SDC for the Spring Expo. Maybe i'll see ya there. I NEED to win a new jumpsuit after what the medics did to mine.

Doc wanted me to stay in the hospital, but my crapass insurance company wouldn't allow it. Seems people that sit in an office all day know better than an orthopedic surgeon. >:(

Good to hear the surgery is behind you. Now see if you can get the crapass insurance company to rent a wheelchair for use around the house! Heal fast!

Best of luck to ya Sunny, and may you heal quickly and fully.

You are now the proud owner of Skydive Scar v0.1A. Future upgrades include a whitening of the scar, and in V1.1, full functionality (and the ensuing coolness) will be available B|

awww...like it's not bad enough you're grounded and broke your ankle, they ruined your jumpsuit??

when they went to cut off the wrapping the EMTs put on my ankle to stabalize it for the ambulance ride, I commented, "please don't cut my jumpsuit...it's a $300 jumpsuit.."
the doctor replied, "I have 7000 jumps - I know about jumpsuits. I'm not going to cut it."
and they didn't. Why did they cut your jumpsuit?? that sucks.

Glad to hear your surgery went well..had mine on Thursday and was at the DZ on saturday. :) didn't jump, obviously...but I was there.

hope you heal fast...

really? can they do that?
my doctor kept me less than 24 hours..and I have a plate and SIX screws. I don't think that just an overnnight stay is unusual, is it?

Why did they cut your jumpsuit

This isn't a smart ass answer, seriously, to get it off of her. Sunny wasn't able to move very easily. Every motion was obviously painful. It's possible that the suit could have been peeled off but it was much quicker and safer to cut it. It was not going to be an easy chore and paramedics sometimes have to just do what they have to when doing their job. I'd stepped away prior to that but I took her legstraps and helped remove the rig. That was difficult enough to do with out causing undo pain waiting for the Paramedics.

It's a bummer, but sometimes that's the only safe way to remove the offending article of clothing.

Sunnyone, I'll bet you heal much sooner with the new metal in your ankle. Bee good to yourself.

Sure hope so. It still kinda hurts right now, but i have hope that the pain will go away in a few days.

BTW, my anethesilogist was not only a total hottie, but he's done 2 tandem jumps at SDC. I told him when i'm healed, he needs to come to the dz and make another jump.

Didn't you mean to say "get jumped".

strange male fantasy :P:P:P

come one it's just fabric... and what if they have to cut the rig.. I saw that... Even helped to do it. Wasn't a very new rig though... But you have to tell them where to cut so it might be reparable...
