turtlespeed 226 #1 March 16, 2004 Technically - we are in the information age, right? So, if an outside civilization were to look upon us and make an analysis, what age would you think they would put us in, socially? My guess is that we are still in the equivallent of and advanced Middle Age. Yes we have advanced travel -and computers, but socialy, we are still just as barbaric if not even more so than we were 2000 years ago.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
WeakMindedFool 0 #2 March 16, 2004 Quote So, if an outside civilization were to look upon us and make an analysis, what age would you think they would put us in, socially? Dark ages for sure...it'll take time but we will get out of it. We have lot's of nifty toys, and a child like understanding of how reality works but we can't seem to stop killing each other for reasons like, "God say's your a bad guy!" or "You crossed that imaginary line on that map so I'm gonna blow up your family!" not to mention the destruction of the environment we have to live in...which sucks cause we all know it's happening but can't control ourselves. Oh well, at least we don't have to live in the really bad parts of the planetFaith in a holy cause is to a considerable extent a substitute for lost faith in ourselves. -Eric Hoffer - Check out these Videos
Darius11 12 #3 March 16, 2004 I hate to tell you bro but 2000 years ago was a lot worst. You have a lot more rights and are a lot safer then way back then. But i think we would be in the final age. We will soon all be dead as we kill ourselfs by all the crap we put in the air and water. Plus there is just too many of us we need to get rid of at least half. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

turtlespeed 226 #6 March 16, 2004 Could you killl thousands of people at one time, losing less than say 10 of your people? Different yes, worse, no - The leaders then were just working on different guidelines - kill or be killed. Now it's kill cuz my god says you are bad.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

Amazon 7 #11 March 16, 2004 Geologically we are living in the Cenozoic Era(Age of Recent Life or Age of Mammals) which contains six major Epochs beginning about 65 million years ago. THe six are Paleocene, Eocene, Oligocene, Miocene, Pliocene, and the Pleistocene( Ice Ages). Currently we are in the seventh and latest which began about 11,000 years ago. This is called the Holocene. But if things keep up the way they are going perhaps the next stage will be the Kerocene ( for the fire that may engulf the planet thru wars) or perhaps the WeShouldHaveCene. Barbarism with kewl toys like the ones that have the ability to destroy all of the people on the planet does not bode well for the future. If we can't learn to all live together we surely will all perish together.
