AggieDave 6 #1 March 17, 2004 Right now, there is the coolest light and sound show I've seen all year outside. Yup, its one hell of a storm. Especially since its supposed to be cleared by about 5am so it'll be nice by 8am when I get to the DZ. Here's a question, we're under a Tornado Warning right now, I really don't give a shit. Ever since I can remember a tornado warning was a way of life in the spring. I'm sure its the same for folks in tornado alley... What about the yankees and the folks in California (Canada or elsewhere), do you get worked up over tornado warnings?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." osuskydiver 0 #2 March 17, 2004 nah, don't really get worked up about anything really. If God wants to put a tornado through my house then there is nothing I can do to stop it. By the time you read this you have already read it.
AggieDave 6 #3 March 17, 2004 My good storm turned against me. Oh well, that's Texas, I heard the beginnings of hail, so I tossed a blanket and tarp over my VW, which I meant to move into the garage this week to work on it and a blanket over my truck's windshield. Hopefully it will stay pea sized and not do too much damage. If it does, well, it does, nothing I can do about it. Atleast the driveway has some coverage from trees and houses being close. That's given me just enough protection in the past, maybe my luck will hold.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." FallRate 0 #4 March 17, 2004 I have no idea what storms are like in Texas...I've never experienced one while there. But the storms in North Dakota are incredible!!! Before moving to ND I had never seen a thunderhead from it's peak to the open sky beneath. It's amazing! FallRate

SarahC07 0 #11 March 17, 2004 Books, bah- I tried that about 2 nights ago... this sleep, wake up, no sleep, sleep, no sleep thing has been going on now since about Thursday.. It's pissing me off... but trust me, I've tried just about everything to get myself to sleep... Sarah
skybytch 273 #12 March 17, 2004 What's a tornado? I think I'll get uptight about my first hurricane warning. Maybe uptight enough to move back to California - the known evil is always much less worrisome than the unknown is. Coolest lightning show I've ever seen was in Texas though. A couple hours of almost constant lightning all around us as we were cruising down the road. Incredible.
Nutz 0 #13 March 17, 2004 When I was growing up I lived in a trailer with picture windows on two sides of my bed. Some of my favorite memories are laying all snug in my bed watching lightning shows out my picture windows. "Don't! Get! Eliminated!"
mailin 0 #14 March 17, 2004 I lived in TX for one year while I went to UNT and a tornado ripped through Denton real quick one night - tore the corner of the room off the building I was in. Lived in New England my whole life and can never remember a tornado coming through.... now a hurricane, yes - had a few of those. I get worked up over snow - anything over a foot sucks. Stacy 0 #15 March 17, 2004 2 tornados touched down in Martin County (about 20 mins north of me) yesterday. We had 2-3 in one day last year. FLorida has more tornados than I expected when I moved here! Kinda freaks me out, but I'm from MD and not used to it. On the other hand, I think hurricanes will be awesome, IF i ever see one. I live far enough inland that I'm not in a flood zone, but will still get a hurricane day from work. yahoo! __

weegegirl 2 #17 March 17, 2004 personally, i get kinda scared when i hear tornado warnings... but they are pretty new to me since i grew up on the east coast. however, i clearly remember a huricane putting a tree through our house as a kid. that was pretty cool. sunshine 2 #18 March 17, 2004 I take tornado warnings seriously. I've seen the destruction they can cause. They scare the hell outta me. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!

Beerlight 0 #20 March 17, 2004 Aggie, storms over now..... I just checked the forecast and it's like this for us today in South Texas. Houston - Sunny, temp 82! College Station- Sunny, temp 81! Gotta luv this Texas mornings!
turtlespeed 226 #21 March 17, 2004 Was the storm worse at your house? It didn't seem so bad from inside Yesterdays - and it was over when we left.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

caress 0 #23 March 17, 2004 I love a good storm too Dave! In Arizona, we get what you would probly call wussy tornados. I like the summer rain storms. Not that I get to do it, but I enjoy making love in the warm rain, with thunder and lightning all around-call me kinky/or crazy, but it is what makes me happy-Caress I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right.
AggieDave 6 #24 March 18, 2004 Well, we're forcasted to possibly have another one tonight...haven't seen or heard anything yet, so we'll see. Today was almost perfect, except the winds got too high for our students to jump, I still took tandems (not too bad for those) and did some fun jumps. Even got some decent swoops into the wind, so it wasn't all that bad.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
