H.R. 799 would limit the jurisdiction of the US Supreme Court and federal district courts over cases involving a federal, state, or local government official who publicly acknowledges God as the source of law, liberty, or government. This bill has been referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary, of which I am a senior member. I support voluntary, non-coercive, prayer and other religious expression in public.
