Kerry Eying Possible Defense Secretary

That's a good question, and one better directed at your right-wing theocracy supporters than me.

Well how about an answer? Whats the difference between Marriage, and a civil union?

Quote

The rest of your argument is pretty disingenuous. You know Kerry has stepped out against gay marriage and has supported "civil unions."

I don't see a difference.

Quote

I'm sure you also know that most people see a difference between the two.

I don't see a difference.

Simple fact is Kerry can't pick a side...Well he can pick one, but he will not stay put.

How about this one:
Quote

Kerry Said He Will Fight To Keep Tax Relief For Married Couples.

Said Democrats Fought To End Marriage Penalty Tax. “We fought hard to get rid of the marriage penalty.” (MSNBC’s “News Live,” 7/31/03)

But, In 1998, Kerry Voted Against Eliminating Marriage Penalty Relief For Married Taxpayers With Combined Incomes Less Than $50,000 Per Year, Saving Taxpayers $46 Billion Over 10 Years. (S. 1415, CQ Vote #154: Rejected 48-50: R 5-49; D 43-1, 6/10/98, Kerry Voted Yea)

Ok he says he does not want to charge more if you are married.
Quote

“Howard Dean and Gephardt are going to put the marriage penalty back in place. So if you get married in America, we’re going to charge you more taxes. I do not want to do that.” (Fox News’ “Special Report,” 10/23/03)

And
Quote

“We fought hard to get rid of the marriage penalty.” (MSNBC’s “News Live,” 7/31/03)

But then he Votes to keep it?
Quote

But, In 1998, Kerry Voted Against Eliminating Marriage Penalty Relief For Married Taxpayers With Combined Incomes Less Than $50,000 Per Year, Saving Taxpayers $46 Billion Over 10 Years. (S. 1415, CQ Vote #154: Rejected 48-50: R 5-49; D 43-1, 6/10/98, Kerry Voted Yea)

AND only for those with less than 50,000 per year...So he hit the poorer folks.

There are more.

Civil union = legal contract

Marriage = civil union + religious ritual

When you get married, in a church, you still need to get a blood test and sign a marriage certificate. Then you add on the ritualistic stuff.

Nice try Ron. Do you research this stuff or just believe whatever you read on some web page that supports four more years of the current idiot? I guess it's possible you were intentionally trying to mislead us, but I'll assume that's not the case.

FYI - S.1415 was the Universal Tobacco Settlement Act. Senator Gramm added Amendment No. 2436, "to modify the provisions relating to civil liability for tobacco manufacturers, and to eliminate the marriage penalty reflected in the standard deduction and to ensure the earned income credit takes into account the elimination of such penalty. "

Oh well, go ahead and paint Kerry's vote against the tobacco settlement as a vote against the poor married couples if you want. Just don't expect to be considered any more credible than any of the other Bushwacks.

Bush is seen as a total and complete idiot in MOST of the world. He and his cronies have alienated so many people on this planet that instead of being a respected role model we are now seen as a threat in many places.

Hmm, would that includes THESE places?

Afghanistan, Albania, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Nicaragua, the Philippines, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom and Uzbekistan

About Kerry "It's because, like most politicians, he sometimes finds that a shift in positions is politically useful--not an admirable motive, but hardly an unusual one."

So he does flip flop just to be popular...? Thats what it reads to me.

Quote

Kerry certainly can't match the heroic consistency Bush has shown on tax cuts--

I like tax cuts...You lefties like to tax more and give it away.

Quote

Bush said his predecessor "overdeployed" American forces, but he has stretched them even thinner

Clinton was not a war....That makes a big difference.

Quote

In the campaign, he promised to boost the defense budget. After taking office, he said he'd keep it at the level proposed by Bill Clinton. Then he decided to raise it after all.

So he campaigned that he would raise it then he did? Sounds like he did what he said he would do to me. As for saying he would keep it at Clintons level...I thought we already covered the whole WAR thing?

Quote

Bush partisans portray him as a forward-looking leader in the war on terror. That took another turnaround. In 2001, outgoing National Security Adviser Sandy Berger informed his successor, Condoleezza Rice, "You're going to spend more time during your four years on terrorism generally and Al Qaeda specifically than any other issue." But the administration left Osama bin Laden alone until he killed nearly 3,000 Americans.

And Clinton did nothing to OBL or terrorism for 8 YEARS. Bush had 8 mths to prepare...

Quote

After Sept. 11, 2001, Bush rejected demands for a new Department of Homeland Security, but eventually changed his mind. Then, when he didn't get his way immediately, he said the Democratic-controlled Senate was "not interested in the security of the American people"--because it declined to approve something he had opposed just months before.

Kerry helped WRITE it..then called it stupid.

Quote

He rejected the idea of negotiating with North Korea over its nuclear weapons program, but lately he's been doing just that.

I guess you would rather go to war? You are funny you claim we should not go to war with Iraq, but we should against Korea.

And you are using an EDITORIAL as proof? Bad form Doc.

I'm not claiming any proof - where did I say that?

I'm not claiming any behavioral characteristics from Kerry - where did I say that?

I'm saying that those in glass houses (Bush and his acolytes) shouldn't throw stones. Criticizing someone else's behavior is a sure way to get your own scrutinized.

And don't forget Matthew 7:3-4.

#1. I was busy writting and editing This

#2. I have this thing I call work...I try to do it some during the week.

#3. I didn't have time to look into your posts..So Im not going to reply before I can look for FACTS...You should try that approach sometime.

#4. I am starting to realize that I don't care about these political posts so much. I mean you just keep saying the same thing...We say the same thing...You say the same thing...We say the same thing... Ya know the true definition of insanity?

When you keep doing the same thing, but actually expect a different response.

And thats all we seem to do these days.

I thought I was getting sick of 100 jump wonders on here....I am really more sick of this political BS. No one has the whole answer. Everyone knows better than the next guy.

I quite frankly don't need this shit in my life...

I am most likley going to Vote for Bush...I don't like Kerry. I think he is two-faced and does and says whatever will make him popular and get him votes.

You are going to vote for anyone but Bush. You think he lies all the time.

Here is a hint...they both lie.

And I am not going to be able to change your mind, you will not change mine.

So my limitied time on here today has been spent getting into an agrument with some 15 jump wonder who knows better than Bill, Me, Lisa, Scrumpot, Wendy...ect. Its still better than just getting the Rainman act from you.

At least maybe this 15 jump wonder *might* listen. What is they put in the water at skydive Chicago that makes students there think they know so much?

Anyway Im done here. You kids have fun here.

Kerry is a two faced idiot. (For old times sake)

Well, here's Poland's position (from Associated Press):
------------------------------------------------
March 18, 2004 | WARSAW, Poland (AP) --

President Aleksander Kwasniewski, a key Washington ally, said Thursday he may withdraw troops early from Iraq and that Poland was "misled" about the threat of Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction.

His remarks to a small group of European reporters were his first hint of criticism about war in Iraq, where Poland currently has 2,400 troops and with the United States and Britain commands one of three sectors of the U.S.-led occupation.

"Naturally, one may protest the reasons for the war action in Iraq. I personally think that today, Iraq without Saddam Hussein is a truly better Iraq than with Saddam Hussein," Kwasniewski told the European reporters.

"But naturally I also feel uncomfortable due to the fact that we were misled with the information on weapons of mass destruction," he said, according to a transcript released by the presidential press office.

Kewl! I've just finished a Piper Cub on floats(73inch span), and I've just ordered a new heli kit. I may be able to bring the heli to ZHills in April.

That's rough. I'm on Spring Break and it's raining, so I've not much else to do than irritate people.:)

I have a nice large pond in mind for the float plane also.;)
