skydiver30960 0 #4 March 18, 2004 a quick search on cnn.com yields a story dated 3/15 about a skydiving fatality in Australia. The reason it got so much attention was it was the daughter of Britain's Minister for Europe. The article mentions a "tangled parachute" (singular) in one paragraph and "her parachutes malfunctioned" (plural) in another. No mention of a camera, but it does say she was an experienced skydiver, not a newbie. Elvisio "dan rather, I ain't" Rodriguez
ozthebum 0 #5 March 19, 2004 Just saw the preview for the segment and the voice-over said "She fell 14,000 feet without her parachute and managed to survive...."
Antithesis 0 #6 March 19, 2004 I just heard another preview that said... her parachute failed her... What she learned may help you survive.. DownWind 0 #7 March 19, 2004 Just finished. Seems her main did not open, she attempted 3 times. Reserve was deployed, but she put herself into a spin by only pulling down one toggle. She exited the airplane on a two way. Hit the ground doing 80mph put her in a coma. After recovery she did a tandem. Pretty good story, she actually mentioned that her accident was not indicative of the sport.
Antithesis 0 #8 March 19, 2004 I guess that it wasn't a tandem.. Did anybody catch what the malfunction was? All I got was that the main parachute failed to open cough, cough, Bullshit!! Glad that she made it though I travel the land, Work in the ocean, Play in the sky
bbarnhouse 0 #9 March 19, 2004 Sounds as if it may be the article that was on the cover of People magazine last year.
