ChasingBlueSky 0 #1 March 19, 2004 .....when you are talking about screen size! My bro-in-law was nice enough to give me his used 24-inch Sony/Dell Trinitron Monitor (he does graphics for a living). Check out the pics - the compare pic is sitting next to my old 17inch monitor (when I finally get a new video card, I will use multi-monitor). The other pic is with my laptop next to it to help see what my final setup looks like._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... beowulf 1 #4 March 19, 2004 dual screen is really nice. Matrox makes a decent dual screen video card and so does ATI. They run around $100. At work all of our designers have dual screen systems. Their video cards run about $700. It is convenient to have two monitors.
dkf1979 0 #5 March 19, 2004 I was installing a water heater for a customer one time. Down in the basement laying on the concrete froor next to the water heater theres a 21" Dell Trinitron laying on it's side. I ask the customer what the deal was with it, she says if you want it... take it. http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
Aviatrr 0 #6 March 19, 2004 YOU SUCK! I'm using a 15"TFT laptop....but just ordered the parts to build myself a kickass new system. I haven't ordered the monitor yet, but I am looking at a 21". I can't justify the cost for anything larger.. Mike
Guest #7 March 19, 2004 I got a great deal on a Sun / Sony Trinitron, and my eyes haven't stopped thanking me. I'm only waiting until I've got some income, though, so that I can switch to LCD. mh ."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." rmsmith 1 #8 March 19, 2004 I bought a Viewsonic P225F 21-inch professional flat screen monitor last year; it's worth the expense, IMHO. It's being driven by an ATI FireGL X1 128MB DDR Dual DVI workstation video card. I have both Win2k Pro & Red Hat Enterprise WS--works great with either. lummy 4 #10 March 19, 2004 I'll second the Dual screen.... I had 3 montors setup on my Red hat, that was insane... TBH, Win2k and above supports multiple screens so you really don't need a dual head video card, just throw another card in.I promise not to TP Davis under canopy..
