Deuce 1 #1 March 19, 2004 Should it be the case that a person who has all of Maslow's needs covered except personal fulfillment keep them from bitching that they don't feel loved? This is not me, in particular, but just an observation about American culture that you have no right to bitch cause somebody else has it worse. Is it OK to bitch that your 40th floor corner office has florescent lighting? Is it OK to whine about your Explorer not being a Humvee or Prius? Just cause folks are starving does that make you miss your lunch any less?

skybytch 273 #3 March 19, 2004 Is it okay to whine about sleeping on an air mattress when you have a brand new mattress and boxspring being delivered on Tuesday? Is it okay to whine about having a brand new mattress and boxspring being delivered on Tuesday when you have no one handy to break it in with?
champu 1 #4 March 19, 2004 it's perfectly okay to bitch and whine about anything you see fit. you just can't expect anyone to care about your plight.
lawrocket 3 #5 March 19, 2004 Dern tootin, Deuce. It IS okay to bitch about not having something when others have it worse. It's okay for me to bitch about my student debt, even though others didn't go to grad school. It's okay for me for complain about not having a house yet even though others haven't even got a crap apartment like mine It's okay for me to complain about being at work at 7:00 on a gorgeous night even though others don't have a job (or others are not self-employed like me) It's okay to complain about all of those things SO LONG AS: 1) The reasons for complaint are not arbitrary 2) You equally appreciate what you have 3) You try to remedy the complaints on your own 4) You maintain a positive outlook to yourself and others My wife is hotter than your wife. Jimbo 0 #7 March 19, 2004 QuoteDoes the fact that people are starving make you any less hungry? No. When I think about starving people I realize just how hungry I am and run to the kitchen to make some dinner. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. QuoteJust cause folks are starving does that make you miss your lunch any less? No. Personally, I'm tired of the perception that US has to justify everything that it is. Face it people, we didn't get this kind of progress over 200 years by sitting on our asses. It takes work.So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! skymama 37 #10 March 19, 2004 Is it ok to whine because I haven't been sick since the Eloy boogie but I couldn't jump much this winter because everytime I went to the dz we had rain, winds or clouds so now that I have a 3 day boogie with blue skies and 80 degree weather, I have a frickin' head cold? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

billvon 3,120 #12 March 19, 2004 > . . . . just an observation about American culture that you have no > right to bitch cause somebody else has it worse. I think the right to bitch is guaranteed in the constitution somewhere. Of course, when I bitch about it being a little windy at Perris in January, and the temperature only being 65, I don't really expect the rest of the country to listen to me . . .
