Medicare deception by Bush?

Recommended Posts

By the way, I find it very funny that for as long a period of time the Liberals pushed this type of expenditure, going all the way back to Hillarycare. That for you now to sit there and say "gosh, lookie at how much this is gonna cost. We had NO IDEA" is just side splitting humor. Can someone pass the popcorn?

The cost is not the issue here. The DECEPTION is the issue. Again!

Deception seems to always have been the norm with this issue going all the way back to Hillary and her secret little conspiracy right up to the peresebt day. I'm just not letting the Dims off the hook because there is plenty of blame to be spred around.

Best thing would be to repeal this legislation and explain to people that it's their own lives they're responsible for and to quit looking to Govt. to solve their lack of attention and responsibility to themselves.

Perhaps showing pictures and listening to pity stories of decrepid old people starving in the streets because their whole lives they had to have that new HDTV, Sports Car, Skydiving Rig, Bigger house, Luxury Vacation etc and failed to save enough for retirement and health care expenses would help. Oh, wait. I'm sorry, I'm being mean-spirited. Again.

They paid social security and medicair taxes their entire lives and were told they would benefit from that. You want to tell them now, "tough luck"? How about you save a bunch of money in a retirement plan all your life since you're so responsible for yourself and then when you take it out they tell you that now you have to pay additional taxes on it that you hadn't prepared for while considering your retirement. How would that sit with you?

I don't seem to remember Soc. Sec. and Medicare having been set up with a prescription drug benefit.

If you will go back and re-read what I said without the hair trigger response, you will realize (hopefully) that I was suggesting a way to make those who are younger and still in the work force think about their retirement.

I agree it is a disheartening and frankly downright criminal IMO that politicians from both parties have spent all the money paid into S.S. You also know, because we've had this discussion before, that I'm not against providing Seniors with the benefits they were promised, so I don't get your reaction.

You know, I just came from home the from turning in my cable box and there was a guy in font of me paying his bill. His service had been cut off for non-payment and he was telling the clerk he had been out of a job and had just gotten his first paycheck. So whats the first expenditure? Get the cable turned back on. Thats what I'm talking aabout.
