skybytch 273 #1 March 23, 2004 I'm jealous. My kid was hanging out at the airport yesterday, watching planes take off and land when a guy noticed him and asked if he wanted to go flying.... in a 1952 Beech 18. Of course David said "yes!" Turns out he was flying with Skip, who owns the DC3's at Elsinore (including Mike Alpha, the one that was at Rantoul last year). They flew to Elsinore and back from Hemet. David got to fly right seat on the way back - and turned down the chance to fly the plane cuz he was having too much fun enjoying the ride. Skip told him if he sees them out there again to stop by, he'll take him flying anytime. How freakin' cool is that?
AggieDave 6 #2 March 23, 2004 Damn, he should have held on to the controls for a bit and then asked for a sig for his pilot's log book...get some tail dragger twin time.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Nightingale 0 #3 March 23, 2004 I have to ask... he didn't lose a shoe, did he? Yesterday, I was driving along mission trail, bout 12:00 or so, and a shoe fell straight down out of the sky and hit the road in front of my car and bounced into the brush on the side of the road. Nobody at the DZ admitted to losing a shoe in freefall or under canopy.

Nope, he didn't say anything about losing a shoe... or even about tossing a shoe out of the plane... He was digging that they stayed at about 1000 feet the whole way. I gotta get him a digital camera if he's gonna keep getting to do cool shit like that. Damn kid. Did I mention I'm jealous?

Heck, look at the free stuff I've been sucked into giving youMay your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.
