Casch 0 #1 March 23, 2004 I'm just curious. I never really called girls "chicks" until I started skydiving. I used to think it was a very disrespectful term. But now I say it all the time. Just wondering if I'm offending anyone If I am, that's just too bad because I'm gonna continue using the term in an innocent manner.
skybytch 273 #2 March 23, 2004 Not a problem. As long as you guys don't mind being referred to as dicks.
JRock 0 #3 March 23, 2004 What about Broad or Boo Boo Kitty Fuck or Hot Piece of Ass? Kevin Smith fans are laughing right now.
Casch 0 #4 March 23, 2004 Well, as long as you call me a dick, with a smile, I think I can handle it
Nightingale 0 #5 March 23, 2004 depends on the context. skychick is ok. chick, referring to a friend, as in "Sara's a hot chick", is ok when in the company of friends, but probably not when you're with a date. "yo, man, check out the melons on that chick!" is probably not cool.
TribalTalon 0 #6 March 23, 2004 what about limpy? i call chicks chicks too. but i also call everybody dude too. that pisses some chicks off so i call em dudette. (when i can remember to, anyway)
Casch 0 #7 March 23, 2004 Quote"yo, man, check out the melons on that chick!" is probably not cool. Ok wow yeah that is a bit disrespectful. I use it like, "Yeah that's the chick from Canada I was talkin about". Or "hey she's a cool chick". Now...I might use "Check out THAT chick!" or some variation when I'm with friends, and not loud enough for others to hear. I also try to refrain from saying "chick" to a chick. Just feels strange
EricaH 0 #8 March 23, 2004 Well, when I'm being called a kick ass cool chick, it's a compliment. When my co-worker (a man) & I were having an argue... I mean a discussion over e-mail; he meant to forward my reply to him to our boss (another man) & said "can you believe this chick?! Who does she think she is".... well, he accidentally sent it to me. Needless to say there were a few group discussions. There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear. Casch 0 #10 March 23, 2004 Quotebut i also call everybody dude too. Hah, I thought I was the only one left that used the word Dude in normal speech. When I'm hanging out with my best bud, all we say is Dude, and Man, stuff like that haha
JRock 0 #11 March 23, 2004 Hot piece of ass is my favorite... and I have actually complimented some of my chic friends by telling them they are exactly that.... They loved it. Of course we were wasted at the time.
DJL 235 #12 March 23, 2004 Actually, they prefer "chicken-head". Go call the next you see a chicken-head. She'll think you're being cute and will hug you."I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
weegegirl 2 #13 March 23, 2004 i generally don't mind... i throw the term around a lot. skychickies, cool chicks, what up chick, chick power... . but, at the same time, i don't like when people use it in a derogatory fasion. that bothers me at times. btw... jrock is funny. Awwww I invite them over to the crib and bust out the pizza rolls in the toaster oven, pop open a bottle of Asti Spumante which always makes them giggle.....you know why...cuz of the bubbles... they tickle the nose.... awwww that's right baby.... happythoughts 0 #16 March 23, 2004 This was immediately going to a dangerous conclusion, context. "Well, it depends...if he is tall and good looking... but not if he has beard... if he was being funny...but not too funny... if he was using it with another word..." Here is where you went astray. "I wonder what dose broads are thinkin'..." Bad, never wonder. There's never been a good outcome from this.
Conundrum 1 #17 March 23, 2004 I use the word chick all the time. Doesnt offend me at all.

I think that it depends on the context in which you use it, and the person's age. You seem very young, so that term wouldn't bother most young people at all! It is not offensive. Btw, I don't know about Jdog being funny, but I find people who are witty, clever and self-deprecating to be the most humorous, like both Happythoughts and Clay. Those two are hysterical!
