No chops yet, but one high speed container lock at jump 38. That was a rush...:S
That mal thought me to KNOW MY GEAR and trust no one! :$
More than 200 without using my reserve now. ;)

-Brought beer to the DZ (couldn't get anyone to drink it tho! :([:/])...one big ass bottle o' Maker's Mark whiskey for my rigger, and the cameraman and I both escaped pieing...:ph34r: I think people were too busy that day to get pieing stuffs in the first place, and Tommy didn't tell anyone it was his 600th 'til after...:P turkey! If I had known, I woulda pied the sucker myself! He actually caught my main in flight and dragged it over the DZ...that was on video too! I have the whole jump/cut-away/canopy grab/AND he swooped his kids at the end/my reserve landing on VHS. He has it on digital, I otta see if I can convince him to post it on here.

WELL TOM???? I know you lurk, buddy! ;) An' it was my embarrassment anyhow...so, can you post it? Puh-leeeeeeease? :):)

Gald it is out of the way.

OMG, my next jump will be 18. Now you know that you can do this and that must give you confidence. I'm glad you're ok. Good for you.

Jump 44. FXC misfired after I was open at 2500. Went to downplane and I chopped at 2000. Landed without incident. Fell out of a tree when the branch broke while looking for the main and broke my ribs. :S

Around jump #200 in 1989. Bag lock malfunction going into Legion Field, Birmingham, AL, at night, for the All-American bowl as a member of the 20th Special Forces Group Parachute Exhibition Team. We took 12 guys into the stadium. SkymonkeyOne was a team member and my partner going in. Each pair exited the tailgate of a CH-54 Skycrane. One off each side. Each pair fell for a designated amount of time and deployed for a stagger effect. Chuck had a camera helmet on his head so it's on video. We'd already delayed for 7 seconds from 4,000ft. My bag sat me upright and swung back and forth above my head. I did not try and free it by pulling risers because I'd already delayed for so long. I was the first person in and rode my reserve to the 40 yard line. The crowd had no idea other than the fact that my reserve was "Golden Knight" black and gold and everybody else had red, white, and blue canopies. There is absolutely no "out" at Legion Field in downtown B'ham. Dangerous place. If you miss the bowl, you're going to either hit power lines or land on somebody's house in the ghetto. My main was recovered later that night by a police officer. He caught some boys running off with it in the parking lot. I had several beers later that night. Kind of nerve racking. :S
