humanflite 0 #1 July 29, 2010 Stiletto 120, about 7-800 jumps, unknown line age. But in trim and flies well. rigger certified as airworthy less than 6 months ago. Ive noticed that at the bottom of one of the lines what I would describe as a weak spot or worn bit of line where it has noticeably thinned.... its approx 8 inches up from the riser attachement loop (not sure if thats the right term) Is it possible to get one line repaired without having to have a full reline? (all the other lines are in very good condition) and yes, I am going to get my rigger to take a look at it but until then am seeking some advice, to know if I will have to send it in to PD for a full reline thanks
davelepka 4 #2 July 29, 2010 One line can be replaced. Make sure that the rigger takes into account how far out of trim the other lines are. They may be in trim relative to each other (for the most part) but that doesn't mean that they match the factory numbers for line lenght. Generally, if you match it to the opposite line on the other side of the canopy, that's a good guess.

jdathome 0 #4 July 30, 2010 Which line is bad, one towards the middle, the outside? A-B line, C-D line? It may be a good idea to replace the bad line, as well as it's opposite partner on the other side. This way will lessen the chance of developing a turn, depending on the location of the bad line. If it's an outside line, a small difference in length could give undesirable results.Marriage is like a deck of cards. riggerrob 643 #5 July 30, 2010 The simplest fix is to "partner" it like the outboard lines on PD-360 reserves.
