Converting velcro toggles to non-velcro?

My canopy has velcro toggles, and while they hold pretty well, the velcro is causing some damage to the risers and the front riser handles. Is it possible to add velcro-less toggles to my canopy?

Just a curiosity question. I am getting tired of the velcro catching on everything from lines to risers to anything else that it comes in touch with.

it's not your CANOPY that has velcro toggles, it's your CONTAINER that has velcro toggles.

yes, they can be converted. Keep in mind that to do it well will cost $30-$80 USD (depending on the method and the rigger). And if your risers are already damaged, or just plain old, it's more sensible to get a set of new (or at least new to you) velcro-less risers.

Velcro of toggles are on the outside part of the rear risers. Those have no contact with any riser or front riser loop. How can it catch risers?

It won't catch anything if you mate the toggle after landing.

Anyway you can choose the way of securing the toggle if you replace your risers.

There are two handles on the front risers and whenever the velcro catches them, whether it's as I'm packing or carrying the chute to the packing tent, it snags on them. It catches it once in a while, but it's enough to do a bit of damage every time.

Do you stow your toggles after landing ? You really, really, really should, ESPECIALLY with velcro toggles. I am guessing that will solve 99% of your problems.

This problem is solved as simply as buying a new set of risers. For the most part, you can even use risers from any manufacturer with any rig. Look around at your dropzone and see which design you like best then ask your rigger if that design will work with your rig.

Pay money, get new risers in mail, have rigger hook them up (or do it yourself and have a rigger check your work) then...

Problem solved.
