Kennedy 0 #26 March 28, 2004 I had to live there (ghetto) for three years for UMCP (U of Maryland College Park). Six blocks from the campus and it gets scary, even while the sun is up. And it gets worse. I moved to Bethesda (much nicer, overpriced area) my last year and afterwards. I visited Fredrick more than once.witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
jfields 0 #27 March 28, 2004 The only reason I was picking on Frederick in particular is because SpeedRacer lives there. Actually, it has become quite a nice area. I've been to his place and it is very pleasant and respectable. I just had to give him a little ration of harassment, that's all.

freeflynate 0 #33 March 28, 2004 I live near a place called Gibsonton, FL. It is Carni ville. It is the home town of one of the biggest traveling carnivals. The freaks of nature, the nastiest white trash that I think u can lay eyes on. They will fight, shoot, stab, and rape each other for shits and giggles. And to think I worked on an ambulance in that town. You dont need a parachute to skydive, but you will need one to skydive twice.

Yes living 20 miles from Flint isn't far enough sometimes, but it beats having to travel to some ghetto in NY to be scared and thankful you don't live there. And if i ever become a crack head it won't be too far a drive. Obesity capital of the world, but home of the Fatty's when it comes to hand rolled cigs ! Ain't that right Mr. Mindcake ? flyinghonu 0 #42 March 28, 2004 QuoteI'd rather end up in Fredrick than anywhere in PG County within 20 miles of DC. . I grew up and went to high school in Greenbelt (Only 15 minutes from the lovely crack house neighborhoods of DC)! Makes you tough though . Although I'd never move back there FOR ANYTHING, I would never change it for anything either. Living there taught me a lot (good & bad). Muenkel 0 #43 March 28, 2004 Quoteoh, you got one of them Lawn Guylanders Everybody makes fun of them. How ironic, us Lawn Guylanders used to make fun of Jersey. We called it the armpit of the nation. If ever you're on "The Island", take a drive through my hometown...Northport and Fort Salonga. I think you would change your opinion real fast. Kennedy 0 #44 March 29, 2004 I might change my mind...until I talked to someone. I've been up one side and down the other on LI. I don't figure there's much that'll change my mind about it (and it's people). There are exceptions to every rule, of course. ps - in my experience, most LI folks who referred to NJ as an armpit tend to be the folks who've never gotten off the turnpike and/or parkway.witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
