The Bonfire v. Talkback

Recommended Posts

>>I like the new format a great deal, seperating out the political threads seems to have cleared the air and made this a more comfortable place to be. Plus talkback was swamped with threads and a new thread could dissapear in a matter of an hour if it didn't get posted to right away. Now maybe they'll linger a bit longer

No softball... only 3 jobs this week (2 of which are at the dz) and as for working out... i can think of better things than the gym!!! ;)
Life is too short. Don't sweat the small stuff.

I like the seperation of the forums. I think it was a great idea.

However, lately I've been bored as hell here. Nothing personal against anyone or the site, I just think we all go through our dry spells.

4. Too many wannabe mods. This could go hand in hand with #3 for sure. I remember back in the Talkback days (like it was long ago ) when it was a free for all of free speech. The mods did their jobs (well, i might add) by keeping the peace and keeping it a happy environment. But now, it seems as if other people are making it their "duty as dz.commers" to play moderator and pick on people for little details about whether threads belong in certain places, what can or can't be said in threads, and totally slamming on people for just posting as normal. Come on people, HH nominated certain people as moderators for a reason, because they are good people and they are FAIR. If you're not a moderator, let them do their job and quit trying to do it for them, cuz if you're not a mod and are pulling that stuff, odds are you're being an asshole about it.***

I agree with you on that one. kinda of funny, "Hey Look at Me" I want to be a moderator so bad. No need for Internet police. Either ask to help out HH as a moderator or STFU...

i remember when there was only one page/forum on dz.com...pretty wierd to see how infected it got! LOL

each time the forum would get infected the cure was to create a new one so the original forum can live happily again! LOL

I agree with you on this. Sometimes I want to ask people if they are kissing up and trying to become a moderator or something.

Although, I do like it when Ivan becomes the repost police ;) (or anyone else really) when its done in a light-hearted manner. Those are funny and entertaining.B|

I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them.

Right on, Ivan has become our unofficial "Repost Police" and it's fun and entertaining, as well as functional, but at least he's really cool about it. Keep up the good work Ivan!! B|

But yeah with everybody else being like "You can't say this here" or "You can't ask this here" or "I say you can't do this" when they're way out of line, those people annoy me. Please, people, quit being some damn opinionated, it's an online forum for crying out loud, not a picture perfect world that you need to maintain. There are other people here to do that.

"You can't say this here"

Aye, but there are ways you can point people in the right direction without being officious.

Words along the lines of "You might get a better answer in XYZ forum" can help things along.
