lewmonst 0 #1 April 8, 2004 I am helping my brother get his business online. I'm curious what search engines people use most as I might sponsor his site to get listed at the top of certain ones. (This is mainly directed to the U.S. as that's all his company will supply...) So what search engines do you use? Do you go to the sponsored links? Or do you ignore the links that obviously paid to get listed at the top? If you use something I haven't listed please post it. And of course, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks! lewhttp://www.exitshot.com
Remster 30 #2 April 8, 2004 I registered my small website on yahoo, google (opendirectory) and the local quebec equivalent. I get most hits form yahoo still.Remster
RevJim 0 #3 April 8, 2004 I have used MSN almso completely. I use google also, but only if I don't find what I was looking for in the first 2 pages of MSN. To date, I've never had to go past google. Remember, the default search engine at installation is MSN. A great majority of people never change it.It's your life, live it! Shotgun 1 #6 April 8, 2004 I still use Yahoo most of the time.... mostly out of habit because I've been using them for ten years... but if I don't find what I'm looking for then I'll try Google or WebCrawler. I'll sometimes use Ask.com (Ask Jeeves) if I have a specific question... I would guess Yahoo & Google are the most important to register with (maybe AOL & MSN too)... though it kinda sucks that Yahoo started charging businesses to register in their directories. (I think that will eventually hurt them)... Oh, and yes - I do often go to the sponsored links on Yahoo... I realize that they've paid to be at the top, but often they turn out to be exactly what I was looking for anyway...
