Places to live in Albuquerque?

Recommended Posts

Moving to Albuquerque in early July. Want to have a house rented and ready to move into by late June.

I'm looking for a good neighborhood--any suggestions? Looking for a Duplex/Condo/House with
-2 Bedrooms
-W/D hookup
-Garage
-Not in the ghetto/retiree neighborhood.

I get paid by the Govt, so I can guarantee prompt payment.

Hook a jumper up! :)

We have a beautiful house in the East mountains, about a 25-30 minute drive to Kirtland (85% of which is freeway), that we'll be looking to rent out around that time.

2/3 BR (we use one as a den), 1800 sq ft., 1 acre of land, 2 car garage, separate pantry/laundry room, separate 1800 sq ft shop on the property (about half of which we'll be using for storage, but the rest is for the tenant). On Co-Op water system, so water bills tend to be less than $50 a month. Septic system, propane heating augmented by a pellet stove (like a wood stove but burns cleaner). A/C is by swamp cooler (evaporative) which is standard out here.

No price set yet, but looking at around $1400-$1500 a month. I don't know your rank or what your BAH will be....shoot me a PM.

Yes, I do know a great area on the outside of town. Where I25 and I40 (the "big eye" is what they call it), go east on I40 and there is a really nice development near a golf course out there, north of I40. Also, if you go to I25 and Paseo Peralta, go east towards the Tramway, there are nice new developments in there too. I used to travel there monthly for work and really liked those two areas.
Good luck!
