SpeedRacer 1 #1 April 21, 2004 I'm applying for Long Term Disability insurance at work, and I had to fill in an "insurability application form". I was able to check "NO" on all the medical questions, but then they had that question: "Do you engage in or plan to engage in in the near future, any of the following sports/activities?? And guess which sport they mentioned first?? Then if you check yes there's a space to explain it. The fact is, I skydive, but not very often. But to a wuffo, any amount of skydives seems like a lot. The premium for the LTD is pretty low (I'm getting it thru work) so I really don't want to be rejected for this. So what do I do here? Should I tell the truth, or what? kelel01 1 #2 April 22, 2004 If you say no, it'll be excluded as a covered cause. So if you're willing to accept that, then go for it. If not, start looking for an individual policy and be honest. Kelly
Muenkel 0 #3 April 22, 2004 May I ask who the provider is? I also purchased disability insurance through work (Thank God I did, considering I am now collecting from it.). Anyway, when I started AFF, I called my carrier and asked them if they covered accidents due to skydiving (I also did this with my life insurance company). In both cases, the answer was yes. Gave me peace of mind. Chris _________________________________________ Chris

Muenkel 0 #5 April 22, 2004 No, my injury is not skydiving related. However, prior to my accident I did inquire if skydiving accidents were covered and the answer was yes. I'm not familiar with your company and their policies. Why not give them a call anonymously and tell them you are considering one of their disability policies and you want to know if skydiving injuries are covered? Good luck, Chris _________________________________________ Chris
