Depends what the subject is. And only becuase I know why you posted this.... I agree in that case.

If its a skydiving related post, then they should at least sign their name at the end of the post, and chances are people will know the experience they are talking from. If its a question regarding finances... well... this is a skydiving website, and we should take all of that type of advice with a grain of salt. The only one we should be worried about is skydiving advice I guess. Just my opinion, of course ;)

I reckon if you watch the site for a month or so, you can get a pretty good idea who is trustworthy, reliable, and how they are likely to vote for!;)

It all depends on the context, I try not to judge people on their jump numbers or years in sport, but on their input to the site, and general attitude. EG I've learned, and continue to learn from people with lower numbers than I.

If you have one person mind, you can click on their profile and see all their posts, this may give an insight into their character and knowledge.

Not for any other reason than this, if you are a skydiver, and here to utilize the site for whatever reason, why not SHARE with people about your jump numbers, your gear, etc.......like most people do.

I just like to know where people are coming from, especially if they are blowing steam out there ass (or if I just think they are).

My two cents - I am willing to share more or discuss more with someone who puts it all on the table. But then again, who am I?

with a little more info about "you" then people would be willing to share more or less info

I try to stay away from what I call the "Mommy answer". " is true because I said so."

The whole purpose of discussing a topic is to provide reasons for an opinion. If you've got an opinion, but no reasons, there is no knowledge to be gained. Also, reasons can be debated.

The next step is when people post a limited number of reasons and omit the important ones. Many times, the important ones are gained through experience. The goal is to bring out the lesser known facts so that people don't have to go through the same learning curve. Learning from others mistakes and successes is wonderful.

huh...imagine that. Almost exactly what I was thinking.

But I've had my caffeine and am no longer bothered by the little stuff. I'm guessing many people can sort thru the bullshit, and determine what is NOT on the table ;)

I try not to list too much information in my profile.

At one time I did, but after being bothered and seeing what has happened to two of my friends, I don't. I figure if someone has a problem with what I post, they can PM me and ask me who I am.

You have what I see as the important stuff, though . . . while having nothing that can enable people to track you down. I think you have it filled out perfectly! Sunny, I believe, is referring to jump numbers, canopy choices, etc.

Yeah, just the basics would satisify me (as if my satisifaction is so important B|) but I just see and read things that personally I don't think people have business to comment on ...BUT then again, that is why we are so fortunate to live in the good old U.S. of A. Maybe I'll become the silent stalker and just sit back and listen...and laugh...and roll my eyes and.....................It's all good.

@Zeemax.................. Don't be jealous little one, just come back to play each year :).
