lawrocket 3 #1 April 23, 2004 Just saw this on Fark. A skydiver gets sentenced to skydive for community service... http://www.wftv.com/news/3034324/detail.html I'll take the guy's name out of this post, but it's published in the link... ***Judge Sentences Man To Jump Out Of Plane As Punishment For Crime BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A judge has ordered a former city employee in Buffalo, New York, to jump out of an airplane for misusing public funds. But don't worry -- [name deleted] is being allowed to use a parachute. [name deleted] used to work in Buffalo's public works department but was fired for taking money from the sale of city-owned scrap metal and placing it in his personal bank accounts. He pleaded guilty to attempted grand larceny and has since repaid the $5,700 he pocketed. As part of his sentencing, a judge ordered [name deleted] to perform 80 hours of charity sky diving. The unusual sentence came after his lawyer told the judge that [name deleted] has been performing sky diving stunts for years for Buffalo-area charities. My wife is hotter than your wife. Casch 0 #6 April 23, 2004 Yeah but the story wasn't actually posted, just Linked. I hate following links all over the place. So
Gawain 0 #7 April 23, 2004 So, 80 hours of charity skydiving. Does that really make it "free"? And, does that include only free-fall time? Or the plane ride up, etc.? I think this will end up coming out of this guys pocket mostly...so, 80 hours (assume freefall time only), that's 4800 jumps! So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
