Cornholio 0 #1 April 26, 2004 I was going to post a poll, but then saw that it had already been done here Check out this video, that is quickly making the rounds on the 'net.... It's pretty obvious what happens, but I'll explain if anybody doesn't get it. http://www.noexcusesc.com/ or http://www.noexcusesc.com/images/seatbelt.mpg I always wear mine, and make sure everyone in the car has theirs on. After getting a ticket once and then totalling my truck many years ago, I firmly believe in them. Very sobering... Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! flyangel2 2 #2 April 26, 2004 I too always wear a seat belt, and I make everyone put one on in my car.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. weegegirl 2 #3 April 26, 2004 I admit, I've been lazy at times... or, for whatever reason, haven't chosen to put one on. This is a very sobering reminder. Thank you.
beowulf 1 #4 April 26, 2004 I have been in two life threatening car accidents and wore my seatbelt in one and not the other. It saved my life when I wore it and would have kept me trapped under the vehicle in the other. There is no guarantee that anything will save your life. Its just dumb luck that I am still alive. I rarely wear a seat belt because I am ok with the risk.

Are they okay with the risk, or do you only not wear a seatbelt when you are alone in the car?May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. AggieDave 6 #6 April 26, 2004 95% of the time I've got mine on. Although its an easy habit to get out of. I know when I drove my VW every day I didn't, I just didn't feel like in that little beetle it would do a damn bit of good for me.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." I rarely think about wearing a seatbelt, but I do occaisonally wear one. That car accident that I was wearing the seatbelt I had just put it on about 20 min before the accident and had not had the seatbelt on for the previous 8 hours. hmmmmm "insert creepy music"
Clownburner 0 #8 April 26, 2004 I -always- wear a seatbelt. And I make everyone who rides with me wear one too. Once, a few months ago, I was test driving a car (it was a 'sporty' car) and I was not happy with the straight road the dealer had me driving down. The sales lady was in the back of the car, and I turned into a side-street, got to a stop sign, checked for traffic (there was none), and decided to test the car's handling ability (I used to race cars, so I know a thing or two about driving them). So, full-lock, drop the clutch at 2k RPM and the car glides nicely around the intersection, making a lovely 180. !!BAM!! there's a loud noise from the back seat. The sales lady had taken off her seatbelt, and was thrown across the car. Fortunatly, she wasn't hurt. But it was a very stupid thing for her to do, none the less. It was hard not to laugh out loud once I found she was all right. 7CP#1 | BTR#2 | Payaso en fuego Rodriguez "I want hot chicks in my boobies!"- McBeth
mrhoop 0 #9 April 26, 2004 Always wear mine. I dont want to pay fine for not wearing. It would cut into jump money.
wildcard451 0 #10 April 26, 2004 I fell asleep at the wheel coming home from school one night freshman year of college, and that accident made me glad I always wear my belt. I was going 55 down the road, next thing I know I am going off the road in a curve about a mile down the road. I drove through the wreck, but there wasn't too much I could do. Police accident reconstruction said I was probably going 90-100 when I left the road, and 55-60 when I hit the tree on the other side of an intersection. I had a stop sign come through the windshield and stop less than a foot from my face, hit the door frame hard enough to buckle it outward, and the force of the impact was enough to shear the driver's seat floorbolts in half. Had I not been wearing a seatbelt, there is no way in hell I would still be around today.
