GLOUCESTER, Mass. -- What do you do when you're driving across a drawbridge and it suddenly starts to open?

Massachusetts resident Mark Mason faced that frightening dilemma in Gloucester last weekend.

He was crossing the century-old Blynman Bridge in a minivan with his two young children in the back when -- without warning -- the drawbridge began to rise and fold open in the middle.

Unable to turn back, Mason says he made a snap decision to speed up. He barely managed to clear the gap in the middle of the bridge and make it to the other side. Mason and his kids were shaken but unhurt. All four of his tires went flat when the minivan slammed down on the steel edge of the bridge.

City and state officials are now trying to figure out what went wrong.

Well, there's a few problems with this.

1. They weren't in a 1967 or 1968 Dodge Charger.
2. They didn't have an air horn that plays "Dixie"
3. They didn't yell "Yee-haw" and have Waylen Jennings do a voice over as it paused for a commercial.

Damn straight, I miss that show as well! I really really want it to be released on a DVD box set in the US (it is in the UK for some reason). Maybe the new movie (which will probably be shitty) will spur an intrest in it.

Well, there's a few problems with this.

I know I watched to much of the Dukes as a kid.
Every Friday night at 8:00 I knew where I'd be. My uncle had the horn on his van. I think he was the only adult in the world to like the show.
