quade 4 #1 April 29, 2004 I'm trying to learn a new 3D graphics program and wanted something "interesting" to work on. So, anybody have any Illustrator graphics files they wouldn't mind me fooling around with? Lame-assed samples below.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Vertifly 0 #2 April 29, 2004 The first one is nice and colorful, but oooh I really like the PVS one. VERY 3D looking!!!! Please see what you can do with this one.
weegegirl 2 #3 April 29, 2004 holy crap! that perris logo rocks! what 3d program are you using???
quade 4 #4 April 29, 2004 Thanks. Unfortnately the program only imports vector files like Illustrator. Fortunately, the .jpg you sent me is pretty simple to trace. As for what -exactly- this program is . . . uh . . . it's a highly specialized plug-in for Adobe After Effects. Very obscure, I doubt you've ever heard of it.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Vertifly 0 #5 April 29, 2004 I can send it in a different format if needed. However, it is doubtful that my PC (piece of crap from work) is capable of converting to illustrator format. I always thought that this symbol would look good in 3d because the 'Z' overlaps at the curves. It has the potential to make a nice 'commin-at-you' affect. Thanks Quade, you rock! quade 4 #11 April 29, 2004 Ok 2 hours later . . . this includes the tracing from the .jpg, creating the model, lighting, surface reflections, rendering and uploading to the server. A sample like this would -just- be for demo purposes to show a client the basics of his model and what it -might- look like as a first pass.
